That's a rather bold statement though. I've been doing just that along with fixing hundreds of things on my own just fine.
Your idea is nice but things aren't always black or white, so this should come with an optional field where a server's owner can describe the nuances.
Certainly would be nice to add the ability to describe the nuances. Could even be a check box "Close to official" and "Custom" and if you select custom there's a field where you can describe it.
A little too quick to judge, aren't we?
Well ok I apologize, thought I've read another post from you were you said that, but I guess I mixed you up!
Besides, you won't know if that server hasn't already fixed most of the common bugs with the emulator they are using. Hence I will also have to disagree with your statement regarding bug fixes as well. Any decent server running for a good period of time would've identified and fixed more issues that are not yet identified or reported with the emulator.
That's definitely not the case. They might fix some critical exploits not fixed on their emulator, but I've never seen a server implementing changes (to official behavior) that require restructuring of the code or in-depth investigation on official servers.
- Official waterball behavior that deploys invisible waterball cell and then uses them from bottom-left to top-right by turning them into waterballs
- Official line of sight system for every skill
- Preventing status changes to display wrongly or lose a second or two when relogging
- Correct behavior for every single skill when used against Icewall and Trap
You won't see these on a server that is based on an emulator that doesn't have implemented this correctly yet.
Not to mention that I wouldn't like this either. If they have the skill to do complex fixes like that they should be helping on the emulator rather than fixing it only for themselves.
