Catering to Guilds?

Like servers, you might also be able to cater to guilds. It allows a different way for advertising, instead of just individuals, you could pitch servers to guilds. Ragnarok is evolving from being a PvM thing to being more WoE focused. I feel that it's time to consider adding a guild database at the very least where leaders could put specific info on the server they like. I just wanted to pitch that.

I kind of thought of that before and it's a nice idea.  The identity / impersonation issue is one huge problem that need to be considered and have a way to prevent first.  So the idea never get developed further when I can't find a solution for that.  I would listen to ways of how this can be done in a safe and accurate manner.  Your idea is welcome.

Maybe every guild listing should be approved before being availible for everyone to see? With info about core members, the guild leader, forum, current server, etc... that way you can easily control problems like the ones you mentioned.

I love this idea. +1.

This is good. +1

To sort out guilds, perhaps there can be a filter for like WoE guilds, etc, PvM guilds or MvP. But who cares about s*** useless PvM and MvP guilds these days.

I talked with Tom on msn about this .. and we cannot find a solution as to the identity / impersonation problem.  There is nothing that can be based to create an approval process.  Guild forum doesn't mean much because they are easy to create.  Compare to fake server listing fake guild listing is much harder to identify.

Aw, this would have been such a great idea. But yeah, I can see how people can just replicate guilds (or a person can create the same guild elsewhere even if they were part of the actual guide before... and can use that as an excuse). Not many guilds out there would spend the money to make their own website =/. It's just different from WoW. If there are actually websites made and lots of members to support it... perhaps it's possible.
I think it's too hard to confirm if the person is actually the guild leader if there's no actual website. Words can be easily twisted. Despite how this is a good idea, I guess it can't go through... There's not a lot of solutions to this issue. Furthermore, there are lots of guilds out there as well, so what can be chosen to be on the list? It would just seemed biased if certain ones are chosen... unless there's a determined number (50 people have to be in the guild at least, etc).

Got a story that can be scripted as a RO quest? Or, a variation of other books and movies (like the Zelda and Hunger Games series)? PM me your ideas!

or they should have an information detailed as how the server ads.
e.g. Forum, Site as Registration and everything necessary.

Well fake guilds can be easily found out...as if its a fake guild it will obv have less replies and i think the server owners can provide info if a real guild exsists in the server...so i dont think this is any kind of a problem...

Sounds nice but I don't understand what the purpose of this would be  ??? and most of it would probably be outdated since so many guilds change servers and names every two months, and also it might get annoying fast too when people start reporting guilds that have same name as theirs  :-X

I don't think 2 guilds with the same name exist on the same server.
I feel we could do things like Tabernacle from asdasfRO.
If the server dies, or if certain inactivity is reached. Then we can remove the listing.
I think this is a better scenario.
Though the question of guild impersonation really requires testimony.

That would be the harder part of the situation. Furthermore, there's going to be a lot of guilds... if we did something like that. Some guilds have the same name on different servers which may lead to problems as well (not going to explain this). This would require a lot of monitoring, and I think RMS staff has a lot of monitoring to do regarding player reviews already (and it seems that they are busier nowadays with other things as well beyond RO).
