"Naturally Obtained Item Only?" Box
« on: Jul 16, 2010, 10:09 pm »
Well, the other day I was looking for an item to boost my Grand Cross Crusader's Max SP a bit, so I searched for an item in the RMS database whose script contained "bonus bMaxSp", and I got a long list of items that I could never hope of getting, as there is no normal way to get them (e.g. 2nd Anniversary Hat).

It would be very practical if, similarly to the "Naturally Spawned Monster Only?" box, there was a "Naturally Obtained Item Only?" box, which, when checked, would only display search results that are dropped by at least one monster OR sold in at least one shop OR obtained in at least one random item (boxes, albums).

That way, people could search specifically for things they can actually get. Of course, there is a flaw, as "fake shops" aren't considered by RMS (e.g. the guy who sells Mini Furnaces, Hammers and Anvils), but this shouldn't get in the way of that new function's usefulness (is that a word?)

What do you think ? I'd say that's a good idea.

It was suggested here not long ago.

Compare to the mob side, this is more complicated and use more resources.  Please read my reply to the topic for more details of what I mean.

Disappointing. Well, if you ever have hours and hours free, I suggest you try to solve that complicated problem :x, if you want to.

When I did it for the mob I have plan to do it for item as well.  I'll take a second look on the possibility next time =/
