EuphRO - Low Rate [3/3/2]

this review was updated at 9th of August, 2007.

Server: Stability 9 / Availability 8
If all admins are offline during a crash, you'll most likely be without RO for a while. Thankfully this is rare. It's still annoying and will happen. If admins are ON during a crash, the server will be back up fast. I'm actually writing this during a crash and admins are offline...

Community: Friendliness 10
GMs and admins are still doing fine with banning the bad players off. The community won't get better than this.

Community: Eventfulness 7
We had lots of events for a while! Paradox and Giovani take care of the events very well currently, though the quality of some has been incredibly bad. Quiz event. What does the GM wear in his lower head? Refine and card prefixes right. Answer on the GM's forum signature. Or maybe some lucky one that actually remembers the stuff. Anyway, a PvP tournament is being planned, so events aren't bad always. Hopefully it turns out well, they're at least taking time on the organization.

Still, last Winter there was GM-Serenity who made lots of events for anyone to enjoy. Sadly, later on this GM decided to do some support matters and player banning. He was so obsessed with his power he was banning everyone for the smallest things. That's the end of that event GM, he's gone now.

Game Masters: Friendliness 2
The staff could be amazing, but the truth is: Canadiancow is simply the most unfriendly admin I have ever seen on a server. And unfair too - he can call people f*** retards and when anyone else does it, they face a ban. There's even another staff member: GM-Paradox. Even more unfriendly stuff coming off him. He goes as far as kicking people randomly off the IRC channel and expecting friendly responses. He also says things like "STFU crybaby noob". Apart from those two, the rest of the staff seems to have some manners. Sadly, the man with the most power is so mad...

Game Masters: Availability 8
Although extremely unfriendly, the GMs are available often. I can't say if that's a good thing seeing their friendliness, but we have to live with it. The funny part is how I see some people wanting support via IRC, but even if GMs are around, they don't give the support. The forum is a good place to ask, there you can actually get the support. After waiting for a few hours for it, of course...

Game Masters: Helpfulness 8
Ask help from anyone but Canadiancow. You'll get it.

Gameplay: Economy 4
Just like any server with @autotrade, the economy is crappy. You'll get in it if you find a rare item or two and if people want them. There is currently a 2% tax on all items sold through vending shops. Hopefully the economy will get fixed some day, but we all dream about stuff.

Gameplay: Guild Competition 7
It's not worth it to start a new guild, don't even try. There are a lot of strong guilds around already. There is one guild with lots of ice picks from the Seal quests, which are closed. That same guild also has Ghostring cards and a few MVP cards.

Gameplay: Class Balance 10
Finally the MVP Vit nerf made it here, so Creators won't rule everything so easily. Euph tries to be "as official as possible", and they succeeded. It's just how it is.

Overall:
73 / 100
It's not the best server around, but it's simply your only choice if you want a large and nice community.

Boy... 700 average counts as large sized server now eh? I remember maybe 2 and a half years ago 1000 online as an average (no WoE population) was considered medium. And most people are willing to sacrifice a few hundred online to get a stable friendly server.

Probably cause they're so many servers nowadays. Kinda splits up the population of servers...

This is two months old and gets replies NOW! :o

I'm most likely going to update this in a few days, my opinion changed on a few parts.

It's pretty large because there's not many larger low rate servers around, except for Anima. Even that is somewhat a middle rate server, when looking at its amazing donation rewards...

Uh, no.
Uh, yes. He started on Euph as an event only GM. When time passed, he became a support GM and answered player reports. Everyone who was on EuphRO at that time, knows what stupid things he did. (Here's the worst thing he's ever done. Banning a player, because that player thought someone is a bot. At least he was unbanned later -.-) Serenity's reputation in EuphRO's community is bad for a reason.

Hmm, I admire how they keep such a high population but are no longer on the Ragnarok Online top 200.
I guess RO top 200 doesn't have as much influence as it used to.

I'm just glad that the Donation scam that was on EuphRO's past is no longer there.
If it is though I hope justice will come to them.

BRabbit

Many servers were removed from the Top 200 for absolutely no reason. Including UnityRO, qRO, EuphRO, Ethereal-RO... none of them cheated.

And at the top of the top200 list is RebirthRO, a server that forces you to vote with a large pop-up before you can play the game. Many reports, it's still there.

Try to stay on topic. Thanks.
