Hoon:

I'm glad your experience on Ragnarok Frontier has been stellar. Thank you for making this balanced post about the community, and the way the server operates. It's very much appreciated. I hope that you are still enjoying yourself on Ragnarok Frontier!

potsun:

If you have concerns, or ideas on how to improve the economy (from your point of view) please contact a staff member. Auto vending has tremendous helped the community and it is relatively easy for low level players to obtain gear, via vending or straight give aways from veteran players. The whole point of the Mentoring system is to foster a sense of community and to help out new players that join the server. As a veteran on Ragnarok Frontier, maybe you should consider doing more to help out the community?

protato, Gohkin, Chimichanga:

It's unfortunate that you have not had a great experience on Ragnarok Frontier, with the community or staff members. In certain cases, it is because you have cheated or trolled in the game (Gohkin, protato) and have been removed. In other cases, things just didn't work out. That's unfortunate. Remember that the staff team is composed of more than one person, making a decision as a whole. If you do not raise your concerns with staff members we are not able to resolve them.

Thank you,

- Peter

hahaha what about the illegitimate god item in that screenie big guy?

thought rf was a no god items server, that's pretty strange.

Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty decent server. However, back when i was playing for 3-4 years, Franz was inactive and therefore the staff was only composed of a certain gm. And I only got banned once because I taunted a gm's friend (others got banned for similar pathetic reasons, later unbanned-the pinnacle of my account was a rudra's which practically everyone else had). Community is friendly, but I'd argue that peter creates a totalitarian environment.

E.g. forums:iirc, one mistake(not using the search button and accidentally creating a repost)=ban and others calling you a noob or using

consecutive capital letters on title of post= % that leads to suspension.

-Aegis is good, but too bad the server never catches up on updates. Like i remember when Transcendent classes came out, and it took rf 1-2 years to implement it

I know I am rambling, but i did say the server has the potential to be a 9, but it's a 6

Protato: There was an instance when someone (karm?) had a +10 eagle eyes.
jerryw: There are non-corrupt servers where GMs know what they are doing: rf mirrors this and it's only lasted this long because of its community, mainly composed of Vancouverites. Peter is democratic? Wow, he must have went through a transformation of sorts. I was there before rf had a staff.

I'm aware of the past, however... it's in the past! The server is very tidy and the staff are reasonable. They won't effect the new players.

Well, the thing is that I'm not banned from Ragnarok Frontier (at the moment). I was just merely pointing out that certain gears such as that still exist in the server. I have not cheated in any way, nor have I "trolled" in-game, unless KoS-ing someone and their guild because the leader lied to a friend of mine and stole my friend's items counts as trolling. I've been around since the start as well as the founder, Franz, invited me to play. However, similar to Chimichanga, I got banned for criticizing the way a certain gm handled a situation and stopped playing for a few years in between even though I got unbanned. I rejoined somewhat recently because some of my friends began playing RF again and with the introduction of a staff, I thought there would be a balance of power.

I'll agree that the community is very friendly as I've met some pretty cool people who still play Ragnarok Frontier, and that the GMs are pretty good at catching corruption, such as those who abused the GM refiner, but it still doesn't change the fact that certain illegitimate gears still exist on the server. Yes, they were sold in the past and they are being removed, but there are still some which have managed to avoid detection and still affects players today as they give an advatange to those who have them.

Quite frankly, some of the recent bannings seemed a bit unfair to me such as users being banned for flaming and trolling on the forums and without prior warning. While it is bothersome, trolling and flaming is bound to be a part of any forum and in my opinion, shouldn't have warranted a permanent ban...perhaps a temporary ban? Well, at least that's my opinion, as well as other users as well...which doesn't really amount to much apparently.

You may want to revise this review, as Ragnarok Frontier has been wiped as of August 28th, 2011 and has a fresh start with higher rates and a brand new economy!
