I've been playing RO for about 6 years now, and this server really gave me the worst first impression. I assume it wouldn't be as bad if you didn't just start out recently (They had some 3rd job update that screwed everything up, making it hard for newbies to the server to get somewhere)

MysticRO
Super High Rate
Base EXP : 100,000x
Job EXP : 100,000x
Max Stat : (Says 1500x, but it's 500x)
Drop Rate : 1,500x
Max Base Level : 999
Max Job Level : 250

Ease of use:
Website is pretty bland, but you can navigate it pretty easily. Forums are pretty good, I like the kind of forums they use. However, there is a huge fatal flaw with installing this server. When you install the lite client, the DATA.ini file is not properly configured, leaving out sdata.grf, meaning you'll crash everytime you start to play. This will confuse and aggravate the hell out of newbies to RO in general, and it even took me 10 minutes to figure out how to get it working. A HUGE downside to playing here. There's nothing about this problem on the forums either (or from what I looked for), because I doubt they have many new players joining.

Economy Glance:
They have a mall with basic stuff to buy. You should probably have to hunt for most of your stuff, if it's any kind of newer equipment. There's no Venders, at all, and have no real economy based on items or cards. They're easy to hunt as is, I suppose. HOWEVER, again, there's a fatal flaw here. They have a Gold Room, that's been bugged for awhile, and nothing drops gold or whatever item they use for cash. I've talked to other players about this, and confirmed it's not just like a 1% drop or something. So basically, you won't be buying anything from the mall anyways, unless you autoloot as you train gearless.

Class balance:
It seems pretty good for what I've seen. Many classes are used, but I did see a little more Guillotines than any other class. But people do like the Assassin class, A LOT.

I don't know if this is balance or some sort of bug, but when you change from 2nd Trans to 3rd job, you gain your 3rd job skills (None of which work, except for Guillotine, go figure). HOWEVER, yet AGAIN, you lose your trans skills. De-classing you to pretty much your un-rebirthed class. It's REALLY pointless, and one of the most pointless things I've ever seen. That makes classing like Genetic useless, as their skills don't work, and they lose Slim Potion Pitcher and Acid Demonstration. What. A. Waste. They don't mention this anywhere, so if you're new here, and just want to level and job change, and don't ask anyone for information, and go through with this, you're utterly screwed.

GM Responsiveness:
I asked a few questions about the server itself, and the GMs were really helpful, and replied really fast. The GM's on this server are pretty good, and very active.

Community:
I leveled a bit, and changed my classes, and just sat in their main town (Moscovia) and just tried to talk to people. Most of them there were really friendly, and talked back, if they weren't AFK (obviously). I had a good discussion about the 3rd jobs with a few people there, and we talked for at least an hour. The community is active and well. One of the good aspects of this server.

PvP:
I couldn't really try PvP, other than looking around a few moments to look at the class balance. I never could level myself enough, or buy myself any gears in which to level a little bit easier.

Events:
There we automated events, and from what people told me, GM's do events when they're online.

Forums:
Layout could be bland to some people, but like I stated earlier, navigation in those types of forums is really easy.

X-Factor:
They have a custom town called "Paradise" which is REALLY well made, I must say. However, nobody is there. Everyone is just in the main town Moscovia.
They have a decent amount of customs, and a "Dual-Class" type thing, where you can do this really long hard quest in order to obtain skills from another trans job. That idea is always neat, but could imbalance things. A LOT.

Conclusion:
Honestly, I did not play this server for very long. It is NOT newb friendly (to the server) I suppose I could come back in a week, and if things are fixed, and an entirely different impression of the server. But as for right now, this is how it stands.

I hope this meets standards. My first review on the forums. I was just so frustrated with this server that I felt like I should warn people about it.

Usagimimi

It doesn't seem too bad, although the sdata.grf thing is really, really bad (for the server in any case).

Not my kind of server (SHR blargh), though; their custom cards seem a bit OP but maybe that's my MR mind talking.

ZellDincht1226

Well, I've played many, many different servers in my time, from 3/3/2 (Old school EuphRO) to 25/25/xx (Old RaijeRO) to 200/200/47 (Ethereal-Revenge) to present day 1000/1000/300/10 (GenesisRO) all the way up to like 2565429432 (Super High Rates when I'm bored)

I only play super high rates to cure a little boredom, and most of them cut it for me, with little aggravation. This one just.. stood out BIG time for me.

I can understand where you're coming from with your Midrate mind and everything, though.

The De-classing thing is what set me off the most, I mean, what's the freakin' point? Why implement them in the first place if they're gonna do that and have no skills? There's no thinking ahead involved in that action whatsoever.

Nish

Played MysticRo twice actually and both times I couldn't stay there long.

The dual class interested me the most but the quest is way to long for my liking and I have no patients so yeah :P

They have 3rd classes now eh.. I don't know why servers are releasing them when most the skills are still bugged.

Overall if you like hunting then this server is pretty good but the mall is basic and knowing most SHR servers are quick to PVP, this one
takes a while to be able to go into PVP and even then the community isn't that big so you would probably be alone in PVP anyway.

Not a bad server tho I think the Admin has put a lot of work into it but yeah it could be tweaked a bit to be alot better.

QuoteWhen you install the lite client, the DATA.ini file is not properly configured, leaving out sdata.grf
I'm pretty sure that's because of this:
QuoteThey had some 3rd job update
And well, you should also remember how sdata.grf is completely useless now.

However, it seems they don't say that you need kRO and kRORE to play there...
QuoteThis installer requires that players already have Ragnarok Online and Sakray installed.
...even though, just a few lines below, they say something about them:
QuoteIn the link below the latest kRO and RAGRE clients can be downloaded. These are required to be able to play on the MysticRo server.

Uh, what are you talking about? Sakray's sdata.grf is still needed to play RO, it contains essential things to be able play, no matter if you're using the Rag_RE client or not.

Even if it didn't, why did the game only work when I added sdata.grf into DATA.ini?

GorthexTiger

Because, most likely, your data.grf wasn't updated enough to handle the new information. Adding sdata.grf to data.ini just helps give somewhere else to look for info, if it can't find the data in the original files it's supposed to.

My RO Renewal, kRO, etc. are fully updated, and I can't run any server without Sakray (unless the data needed is in the servers' personal GRF) lol

So I wouldn't render Sakray "useless".

I'm not from Mystic, however, you said it was a "Lite Installation" generally that doesn't include the sdata.grf because it is a lite version. Most servers don't like to include the sdata.grf because it is over a gigabyte in size and that is a strain on web servers. You would need to install Sakray, Ragnarok Renewal, and then their "Lite Installation".

ZellDincht1226

That's not the problem, scoobydoo. I have the sdata.grf already, it's the Configuration files that don't include the server to load sdata.grf when playing, thus giving you horrible error spams when trying to boot the game.

ScoobyDoo

My apologies. I misunderstood what you said. Thank you for clearing that up.

Randfeon

What I meant is that the old Sakray server (which used the sdata.grf file) stopped working on June 18 (or something around that) and thus hasn't had any update ever since. Data.grf, the grf thing of the main server, is the currently most updated data file, and it should be used for all RO private servers. All GMs should be aware of this, especially by now. I believe that having rdata.grf (the new Sakray file) would be nice too, in case something like a new town or whatever takes a long time to reach the main servers.

And well, if a server insists on using sdata.grf (like RMS's test server, for example), you can just... rename your data.grf.
