My honest review on Original Ragnarok Online (oRO)

About me

I used to play on the server about 2-3 months back and was an active player. However i quit due to real life and not because the server was bad.

First things first lets have a brief introduction of the server

Server info

Low rate server with renewal mechanics, 3rd jobs, most updated quests/questlines and tries its best to be up to date with the official servers.
I won't go much into details as there is a more detailed page for that.

Now comes my review on the server.

Community

I first started playing this server when it had 80~100 people. Community was great, helpful people and a super duper helpful admin(based on experienced, i whispered him everytime he came online to ask about bugs and stuff and he answers me everytime even with almost the entire server bombarding him with whispers for halp).I continued to be active for 1 week+ and the server's populated hit a growth spurt and grew to about 250-300+ users online at any time. More interesting characters came to the server but the server became more eventful, competitive and fun(not lying). Parties were formed at several times a day to do endless tower/Hazy forest(hosted some hazy forest runs myself!).

Economy

I felt that for the rates this server is offering, the prices were above average but i never did buy much from others as i hunted most of the stuff for myself. It was easy to get zeny if you know how to anyway especially with the rates this server has.

Guild/WoE/PvP

When i was playing i had many people ask me to join their guild(probably because i was max level,guildless and hunting MvPs frequently). There were many guilds some causal some WoE-focused. WoEs were intense, usually 3-4 guilds were vying to conquer and make their mark on the server. I would say WoE is pretty active and intense and there are plenty of guilds that do endless tower etc.Some even bothered to do the long quests to do Nidhogger/thanatos or that ice worm mvp thing. PvP was really intense as well and there would be about 10-20 people in an arena at some points of the day.

MvPing

This is my favorite part. The competition for MvPs were intense. imagine 20-30+ people trying to kill Beelzebub or Morroc? Now that's fun.

Community Events

There are fixed events available such as identifying what monster the event npc has turned into(god i'm always too slow in typing but it was seriously fun/funny with many people trying to guess) and also Admin initiated events such as killing spawned MvPs in towns(fun too!)

Customization and donation

Customization is really extensive here. I occasionally see weird and funny combination of colors that people have on their characters. Mine was a cool royal blue color-ish though.
Donation wise it is very balanced compared to other servers. This is by no means a P2W(Pay to win) server. I've seen people with donation items get wrecked by non-donors in PvP.

Conclusion

Excuse my badly written review but i would give this server a 90/100. This is by far the best server for renewal mechanics and 3rd jobs etc in terms of balance/community/events/throw everything in here.I have only two negative points - It can be a little laggy sometimes when there's a lot of people playing but mainly because i'm playing from Asia(Singapore) and i think my internet is bad(but not that bad .There are no lags for people in the Europe region though from feedback i have seen while online. 2nd negative point would be i wish my loyal succubus would talk .


Additional comments

There are actually many short reviews badmouthing this server. I do not understand why people would do this out of hatred towards the server/admin or whatever but these reviews are totally false after reading though them. The admin is the same as us and needs to sleep/eat/work. He can't possibly be on 24/7 to serve our every needs and wants(though everyone wants that because humans are selfish).If he had help i'm sure this server would be even better. I do hope this server grows so people can see what i mean when i say it is fun.Would like to give a shout out to the Admin because he's really really really helpful and tries his best. Seriously not joking.

Well more or so with mine after trying to help admin for about 2 months when server started going down hill he made 2 new gms which left because of various reasons and more people tried to help he refused it., i made a extremely good review in December then oro got banned from rms. and admin wanted a review and i gave my honest opinion 2 months after my first review of what server started getting to he completely forgot i made the first review which was a 96, and got pissed off the fact i made a review of a 56, and right after he asked why i said my opinion of because he was not as active as he was stating online so he banned me which is kind of harsh!, yes dont get me wrong it was one of the best and it is going up and down "all servers have there ups and downs" but if you ban someone for nothing  its kind of retarded,. hell 2 of my friend asked why did he ban me and they got banned. then admin will stat he only banned 10 people. "not angry just stating but yes i do agree part way with you server can get better but if he continues to ban people for stating opinions or trying to help he is going to go no were.
