EnchantRO is a low rate server with 5/5/3 rates, and strives to be an alternative to kRO-servers. It opened on April 5, 2008 and as of this date, has a population of about 20-50 people online. There are no healers, warpers, job changers, or resetters on this server at all, which is a rare find for servers these days.
The community on this server has some of the most hilarious people I have ever met on a RO server. They're very friendly and aren't afraid to say hi or joke around with anyone, if you get their sense of humor (which isn't hard to pick up, lol). A rare thing I noticed was that people were actually on the @main channel, which usually is cold and dead on most servers. The guilds might be competitive in WoE, but even they are cordial to each other outside of WoE. Antagonism is not a problem here.
The server is stable, very little downtime. There are a share of unusual bugs, though, such as the PVP arena which was custom made for the server and a few job change quests. The GMs seem to be taking care of those, however. And even though the server just opened, there's none of those lame "First of each class to 99 gets a ridiculous prize!" events.
The economy is what you can expect of a newly-made low rate to be: kinda small, a few decent things, but players have to pretty much hunt their own stuff if they expect anything rare or specific. Combined with that is the fact that the server does not allow Multi-clienting and does not have @autotrade, the economy, though it does exist, is rather invisible for now. However, judging the size of the server and given a little time, I expect there to be a semi-healthy economy sometime in the server's future.
EnchantRO has a lot of GMs (I think 6 as of now), and each one seems to have a specific job. However, they don't seem to talk to each other very much in regards to significant server problems. It seems more like one or two of them talk, and then they pass their ruling, and there's no further discussion after that. More than a few players have tried to suggest ideas to make the server better, without compromising the kRO-like playability, yet a lot of these suggestions do not get implemented, even after a majority of players agree on the suggestion. To add to that, they repeatedly and consistently close a lot of topics prematurely because of a threat of possible future flaming of a topic--in a few cases, even before normal discussion could even occur. It is very hard to discuss things with these GMs due to this, as it makes it seem like the GMs do not care what the players say, and that the GMs would gag the players from saying anything instead of listening to them.
Another minor problem, which is compounded with the above premature topic closing issue, is that for many of the GMs, English is not their first language. Some of their posts are a bit difficult to read and a bit more difficult to understand due to this. Of course, this problem can't really be fixed and isn't really the GMs' faults, but it does add frustration and confusion in GM-Player relations.
The last issue is the fact that the GM team has not once, not twice, but multiple times swept topics that bring to light significant cheating on the server under the rug. Not lock them, hide/delete them, so the community doesn't even know of the problems. While I understand the GMs might not want to stir up unrest in the community, in a few topics, the cheaters involved tried to repent their sins and confess to the the other players for doing wrong to them, and yet the GMs hid the topic. Some of these topics have disappeared even after other players have replied significantly, almost as if the problem never existed at all. It's like the GMs would rather hide their problems than show the community they're taking care of them.
So, for the tl;dr version of this review, great community, but GMs are sub-par in player relations.
