Kind of odd, never seen someone post a review for an official server.

But nice one, nonetheless.

I've been playing Valkyrie for a month and a half now, and I have to agree what strikes you is the niceness of the people. I've played pservers of all different sorts, high pk, mid pvp/woe oriented with customs, low rates that model themselves after kro. Ultimately I'm a fan of super low rates 1X-5X anything beyond that and the game starts to lose it's "feel". What is best about the officials is the stability, you know that unless gravity goes out of business or there's a world wide financial melt down, your characters aren't going any where. I'm tired of grinding to trans, only to have the server close 3months later.

There is one big downside to valk though, the economy is somewhat ruined  most people overprice things (ray=50mil) this is mostly do to the fact that, people can sell the kafra points consumables, and rake millions....and also botting seems to be unofficially aloud, there are tons of bots. But if you window shop enough you'll eventually find what you're looking for at the right price, I've seen thara selling for 2.5mil and apple of archers for 500k. Only server better then Valk is yamir. :P

Heh someone other than myself interested in the official server?

Valk is pretty great, but right now I'm on a hiatus til the next Lucky Box event. Can't seem to find anyone to party on my wiz, and I'm kind of low on zeny to be buying mass amounts of pots for my knight. Hoping I can get another box of 1k prize medals to level my wiz to 99 ;D

The one thing that bothered me when I looked at Valk some months back was the intense amounts of bots and scam/spammers in Prontera. You seriously could not talk it was that bad; and yet they just kept going for days with no GM intervention.

I enjoyed playing iRO and euRO a few years ago.

Good: PvP/WoE, playerbase, some events.

Bad: Donation setup > Economy, a huge load of setups / restrictions that do not make sense ( nomemo mapflags on 80% of the overworld maps, .. ), bad and rare GM support (as already shown with the bots), several cases of corruption in the past (at least for euRO. i have no idea about iRO, as that's already 7-8 years ago).

Overall, I had good times there but I wouldn't go back. The kafra shop absolutely ruined it.

If you have problems with bots. Get the RCX addon. It automatically blocks spam bots for you. And that's one of the side-features. It does a lot more than I'd care to explain.

The review sound so much different than my experience at their free server.  I never got out of novice hood because of the slow as hell leveling yet there are trans everywhere D: The amount of spam bot in town annoy the hell out of me.  The people doesn't seems too bad, at least one was good enough to tell me I can right click block whisper from the spam bot.  I didn't realize that at the time lol.  I think the free server is made that way so people that have some hope in this game will pay to play the real server.

I am thinking they will at least do something to remove the spam bot on the paid server as much as possible?
Any guess on the population of the free server?  I can't believe there are trans at that rates.  Either people have too much time to grind or they are just bot helped.

Heh, why am I there?  I downloaded the iRO client to check if their descriptions are more updated than the kRO translation.  Since it's free I went in for a while but can't stand it.  Don't really know how the real server is now, has been .. 7~ years since I sold my soul to the devil.

Like I said in another topic, the P2P servers are virtually botless.

As far as it goes for Valkyrie's population, last time I heard it was over 25k, I'm pretty sure.

Peak population has been 3000+ for a long time.  It's never been 25,000.  Whoever gave you that information was a bit of an oddball. o=

Must have been a typo.  Have the official servers even peaked 10k?  I have no idea how big were the official servers back then.

It was a typo, but not a big one. Meant to put 15k (15,000). Which are correct numbers. ROPD is accurate and usually up-to-date, but of course, it counts every character, regardless of whether or not they're on one account. So, it's probably a little below 15k, but probably not much. Then there are also those who use multiple account, but still, it's in the range of 10k-15k. Valkyrie has been popular for awhile, and has had a huge player base, which is why some people I know have avoided playing it.

Chaos has peaked 10k before, and the official servers (Chaos, Iris and Loki), were probably well over 20 all together.

I heard that the official server from the philippines has peaked over 25k. I have no idea, though, since I haven't played there.

On-topic: I have never been really interested on playing an official server, since my first experience on one... sucked. However, judging by this review, Valkyrie is quite good... I guess I'll give it a try (=
