Latest Review On EssenceRO 2013
Server stability & availability is decent. I would leave those rated at 8. Occasional lag spikes do happen but it is not a big deal.
Please understand that admin needs to login, run fixes, test and updates.

Community events is rated at 3, which happens probably twice a month.
Community friendliness is at 1. Trolling, flaming, foul mouthing & racial incitement are the norms.

GM Friendliness & Availability is at 4. Availability is related to eventfullness. Less gms online means less events.
I ran a test on some of the gms, pretending to ask for assistance. 3 of them assisted me professionally. Congrats!
However not the same can be said for the server owner/gm. Please refer to the screenshot below. Paradox924 is the
current owner. On the first screenshot "Dox" refers to Paradox924. This is not a personal attack. I am just showing
that if the owner continue to foul mouth then other players will follow suit as seen in the screenshots above.

Economy is pretty much upside down. Two events were held to reduce the number of zeny in the server. Players
donate their zeny to increase drop and experience rate. Of course cards and other items began to fill the server.
Excess in supply over demand means PRICE DROP.
Abysmal knight card fell from 18m to 10m. Gemini-S58 fell from 15m to 9m. The only ones which did not fall were MVP
cards/drops. Now that players have less zeny (after donating and selling normal cards/items at a low price), they
couldnt afford mvp cards/drops.

Crazy economy...


Guild competition is limited to 3 or 4 guilds. This is because of the falling population. My sources whom were with
this server for more than 3 years told me that the population was at 2000. When I joined it was at 1000 and
witness it falling to 600. Do not be mislead though. A player here has an average of 3 automated vends. That
leaves about 200 active or real players.

Class Balance. This one by far is the worst of the lot. This server is heavily modified under the false claim of "balance".
Certain items & cards are ridiculously modified while some others provide extra advantage. If you decide to join this
server, please read and check the item description carefully before making any purchase. A friend of mine spent about
a week to max his char, plus another hard earned 30m-40m before realizing that the fortune sword he needs has been
modified to only 10 perfect dodge.

Contrary to popular belief, 3rd jobs are not fully and properly implemented!


To top those, BG has been broken for months and only recently, Tierra 7v7 is brought back. It is still buggy, sometimes
you get only 2 badges for winning, instead of 6. According to my intel, BG's broadcast system is broken and no BG
recruiting is allow on the main channel. Minigame arena happens only 4 times a day. WOE is 2 days a week. So what can
the players do when minigame and WOE is not on???

Well that's the end my review. The names in the screenshots have been censored to protect my sources from retaliation.
We still love this server, which is why this review is made. If you love your child, spank him if he does wrong... not protect.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my intel team.

Alot of "replies" came in after my first post. Players are encouraging me to expose EssenceRO's wrongdoings
with the hope that it can and will improve. They've also submitted their collection of screenshots so that I
can upload it here. With the amount received, I will only post the important ones.

On my first post, I mentioned that BG broadcasting isnt allowed in main channel. I didnt provide any screenshots then.

Recently I have been accused of posting only screenshots of owner/gms wrongdoings. To prove
that I hold no grudge against anyone, I will also post screenshots of players' wrongdoing. This
one is on the thin line so I leave it to the readers to judge.

Those last two are absolutely disgusting. I used to play on Essence and it was never like that. The GMs didn't talk about things like that in #main; in fact, they rarely spoke at all unless answering questions.

To have that kind of conversation in #main is horrific. I've seen some weird donkey crap said in #main, and I'm used to the raging sex-deprived conversations, but this is really a level I've never seen in-game before :\ I would feel so uncomfortable in a server; I would've quit after seeing that kind of discussion highlighted in a game that's supposed to be fun and enjoyable.

If the community is like that now, it's unfortunate; it wasn't like that before. For the GMs to promote it, too, shows that eRO has gone downhill in the last two years.

I've heard of great stories about the server... It's sad how the server is now =/.
Heard mostly about their customs, etc XD, but it seemed like a fun server. Seriously, such good servers/potential ones go wrongly because of issues like this (Community, language, behaviour, etc). Well, don't know if it's too late now, but hopefully... they can make a comeback?

I used to play here almost two years ago, and found it to be a nice server with a healthy population.  I took a break from MMOs for a while, and when I came back about ten or so months ago I found that a place that was advertising itself as non-PK had turned most maps into PK.  Any map that had a MVP or miniboss on it would have pvp turned on, which meant that if you were on any of these maps you'd most likely get ganked by a Sniper or SinX prowling around specifically to kill off players who were trying to hunt cards or items.  It was frustrating.  There was a bit of racism on #main at that time too, which was right around when the server ownership changed. 

It's kind of sad, since it used to be such a good server.  I'm not surprised it became such an ugly place, though.

You probably played when the server owner was Tira. That was when everything was up and running well.

Understood how you feel. My friends who often MVP complained about the same thing. Not everyone likes pvp
and some just want to mvp in peace. Distasteful modification ...

Finally thank you all for the replies. It lets the server owner, gms and players know that
there are people watching. This made them steer the server towards a positive direction.
In the next few days or probably more, I will come up with a re-evaluation of the server. Stay tuned.

Those screenshots were epic and I kind of lul'd.

The GM team was obviously trolling amongst the players. I troll a lot but not about sex with children - awkward. Either way, no server is perfect especially as RO slowly dies.

Paradox should just continue to develop and give up at leading anything. He hasn't proven to lead eRO, eAthena and I'm not sure if he's capable of leading a sandbox of children. He'll just f*** them, according to the screenshots, lmao!

Is that you, Jeff?  I've been busy.  Played WoW for a few years, now have a kid so I don't get to play games much anymore.  I dink around on DivinityRO a few hours a week, although a little less than that thanks to the DDoS attacks there.  Still despite the downtime it's leaps and bounds better than EssenceRO's crap.  You still playing the game?

It's amusing that you choose to post screenshots without full context, and that you register with another player's name as if in some way to remain anonymous (whilst clearly breaking server rules in terms of harassment/impersonation, which is apparent just by taking a look just at some of the character names you own, as are visible in your screenshots).

Some of the characters you've created: Kira Gaylentine, Jizz Kisame, Jin Bukkake, Jin KissMyAss (among several others).
The guild you lead with your character, Jin Bukkake, is 'Faggotish Intent', with the following emblem:


All the characters you posted the screenshots with were deleted by you, I assume in an attempt to hide who you are and to prevent the above information about your hypocriticism/lies from coming out.

To respond to some of the claims you made in your post:

• We allow the use of profanity and expletives, though not in a derogatory or hurtful form towards others. All you have to do is post an Abuse Report on our forums and we take care of the problem. Most, if not all, of the players you have posted screenshots of are repeat rule offenders and had already been adequately punished for their transgressions.
  
• As for your laughable claim of the server supporting discussion of child pornography or anything of the sort, I'm sure you already know (but conveniently chose to ignore while making this topic) we condone nothing of the sort and players who engage in such discussions are warned immediately and then punished accordingly if they continue.
  
• I'm not even sure what you could possibly have derived from the conversation about the discussion on the earthquake that occurred off the coast of the Indonesia except that it was astounding, terrible and all of us at EssenceRO hoped for the best for anyone involved.
  

Now, if the use of expletives, 'curse words' and other such language offends you, it's your prerogative to either not participate in Main chat (@exit Main) or leave the server as you see fit. Although, judging by your character/guild records, you seem to be playing the part of innocent bystander whilst really just being a massive hypocrite and troll.

A quick re-evaluation to find out if the server has improved

Pros:
As you can see, this review has been read for over than 1200 times. With so many eyes watching EssenceRO, the
swearing and racial incitement dropped tremendously. Trolling is at a mild and acceptable rate. Players have been
much friendlier than before. It is easy to get help once you post your question in #main.
For the first time since Paradox took over, EssenceRO's website displays the server's announcements and changes.
This happened in less than 2 days after the posting of the second batch of screenshots.

I managed to catch this screenshot of a professional and respectable GM.
Saying "Thank You" will always be a common courtesy appreciated by others.


Cons:
Instead of fixing broken elements of the server such as BG, owner and his team have been busy trying to track me
and my team down. This is done by posing as random characters, scattered on the maps seen in the screenshots.
However this will not get them any results. I have been notified by my intel team before they even started.

1. How can me and my team register with another player's name if that player's name is already taken?
2. The screenshots are posted in ratemyserver's forum which clearly does not belong to ERO therefore
    no ERO server rules were broken.
3. Of course we wish to remain anonymous. This is to avoid harassment from the server owner and GM.
    The characters were deleted afterwards, they serve nothing more than to protect our identity.
4. The readers can decide whether they are interested in the characters which we use, or the reviews and screenshots.
5. You and your friends were caught with your pants down discussing sick paedo stuff, nuff said.
    However I would like to add a positive note. After the evidence was posted no child sex discussion were seen. A healthy sign.

**That does not mean the paedophiles are back to normal. After all, paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder. Only a qualified
    psychologist has the final say, as to whether the patient have made a full recovery after receiving treatments.
    I strongly urged those affected by paedophilia (in the screenshots above) to seek professional help.**

6. Earthquake is no excuse for being rude. Not participating in #main chat to avoid foul and racial slur is a privilege I and
    many others do not have as these profanity appeared on our screen before we can react. As for leaving the server
    many are already doing it, it is just a matter of time for me. Reports of accounts being sold for money, secret discussion
    of guild transfer package and individual quits are happening everywhere.


It seems that in your desperate attempt to trace my ip through the server logs has caused the server to lag for more than a week.
I tell you what. In my next post or two, I will reveal my identity to all the readers here. So what do you think readers?
