Dreamer RO: Ups and Downs
« on: Dec 12, 2008, 11:17 pm »
This is the server I play on because I liked the rates... That's it

A few notes on the server:
This is PVP mostly server
MVP is done by a few clasess and mostly for equip
The leveling is fairly easy due to the unique Mercanry system
Deathmatch is ruthless, don't go in without decent equip

Community: 7/10
The community is decent at best... At worst, it's too quiet and just kill each other in DM
The community is fairly small, and everyone knows each other... At least the prominent pvpers
In Deathmatch, getting out tends to be difficult for people are killing you.
The community tends to be quiet and not reply to your talking. Don't plan to socialize here without a guild

Class Balance: 6.5/10
Decent Sages (double cast+Bolt) High Wizards; Spam Nuke Ninjas; Asura Noobs; Decent Champions; Knights/Pallys; and Snipers tend to dominate the battle field.
The class balance isn't BAD, it's a pretty good try but a few common builds beat all. I won't say this is easy to balance but I'm picky here once I'm ticked I can't use my bard without UBERing my equip.

Economy: 5/10
Inexistant. They just have no use but the GM is planning...

PVP: 7/10
Interesting, decently fun, decent balance. So, why 7/10? Because, the class balance is MEDIOCRE, i hate that. You can't even leave the death match room cause there are like stalkers or wizards waiting there to nuke you while you try to leave.  The people don't respond to a peaceful warning, and they aim at you if you kill em once! They don't listen to peace offerings if you ACCIDENTLY hit them. I don't have as much faith as I could in this

GM:9/10
They make an effort to balance things out, they help-a lot. Oh, and they're nice, they socialize but their availibility? seems like friends got together orsomething cuz they're availible for 2 or 3 hrs (cause they have a life) but they're all within a same timeframe-schedule. Hate that. Only issue.

Overall Miscellaneous: 8.5/10
Decent, good, well made. Spawning and stuff is great, no grinding, drop rates and lvl rates are good for the purpose. I like it. It has a few flaws but nothing too bad. I recommend this server.

OVERALL: (This is personal, not an average) 8.5/10
This is a good server with potential but the ideas are taking time to exploit (no blame there) and it isn't perfect. There are many balancing issues which are being dealt with. There are GM frequently viewed suggestion topics. It's decently fun. I recommend it but not that great.

I know this is a 3 year old thread but i was looking for a Dreamer RO review and the only thread that popped was this.

so for the one who made this review 3 years ago i would love to say that Dreamer RO has improved during the years.

here are a few things that you need to know:

This is PVP mostly server
MVP is done by a few clasess and mostly for equip
The leveling is fairly easy due to the unique Mercanry system
Deathmatch is ruthless, don't go in without decent equip

Well not anymore they added some stuffs like Battlegrounds in this BG they have at least 6 or 7 different types you can join to and it is made easier by using the @joinbg command so that everyone can play, There can be 35 players at least playing in BG its like a small WOE scenario. but the sad part is that PvP is dying and very few plays PvP anymore and most of the time they just play BG. another one that they added is the "Missions" if you are relatively new then you can try doing missions you are rewarded with badges and Exp by completing simple missions such as killing "55 thief bugs" now how hard can that be? badges are acquired both from BG and missions and you can trade your badges with stuffs like megingjards and Bloody Branches which cost a billion at least.

The leveling is still the same the mercenary system can turn you to level 500 in 30mins. but that doesn't mean the grinding is taken off. I dont know if you guys had this "Ranking" system at that time but its something that would involve your character undergoing a quest to be a "Hero" which will require you to collect a number of things and kill some MvP and after you complete the requirements you turn into a "Hero". the good thing about this Hero stuff is the "Ranking" this is where you must grind to reach a certain rank. there are a number of ranks D,C,B,A,Elite,S,SS. each time you Rank you get to unlock new maps for monster arena, new aura, and will be able to equip higher level weapons that a non-hero or a lower ranked hero will be able to equip.

Community: 7/10
The community is decent at best... At worst, it's too quiet and just kill each other in DM

The community now peaks about 300 in WOE (excluding the vendors). the community is friendly, you don't get to be a stranger because when you enter BG you will have to work as a team since some of the scenario's invloves team work. when doing "Missions" you can do it as a party so things will be faster you can always find somebody waiting at the Deathmatch Shop.

Class Balance: 6.5/10
Decent Sages (double cast+Bolt) High Wizards; Spam Nuke Ninjas; Asura Noobs; Decent Champions; Knights/Pallys; and Snipers tend to dominate the battle field.

Class balance have always been the problem of private servers. i dont know if you had 3rd jobs before but this is what we have now on DRO and its a pain because almost every 3rd jobs skills can kill anyone in a matter of seconds making the none 3rd jobs such as gunslinger, ninja, and taekwon very easy to kill. although the GMs are working on it.

Economy: 5/10
Inexistant. They just have no use but the GM is planning...

They have use now and non donors can afford donation items at a fair price. maybe because the donation process is instant and cheap... dunno maybe that the reason.

GM:9/10
They make an effort to balance things out, they help-a lot. Definetly the best staff ive seen. asking a GM is very easy and there will always be someone available to answer your questions; they have an NPC that displays who are the GMs online and there are support tickets which you can submit your report about missing items, bugs, RMT, etc. you can also use @request freely to asked them about some questions.

Overall Miscellaneous: 8.5/10
Decent, good, well made. Spawning and stuff is great, no grinding, drop rates and lvl rates are good for the purpose. I like it. It has a few flaws but nothing too bad. I recommend this server.

I had the same conclusion and i would give it a 9.5/10 if it weren't for the current issues that the server is facing right now, even though right now is a tough time for the server because they just had a huge update and enabled 100% of the 3rd job skills. the staff are still trying their best to balance it.

im only in the server for like 3 weeks? and i already love it here.

So far I played with this server 5 months ago, and I really love it until now. Custom gears are well done and the woe is very fun. Despite the server going up and down lately, they manage to fix it and is now stable. I'm really glad that I have a place I can now called home. The only thing I dislike in this server is the Bias, favoritism, and some corrupt GM. Especially GM's playing on the same guild called No Fear, I hate the fact that some players are big headed because of some GM backing them up like GM Hero to be specific. In addition, I would like to let you guys know that in this server, a player on the NF guild called iPad 2 is been causing a rumors on the other players to get them ban with GM on his side absolutely no way to get him. I'm just a concerned citizen, I hope the owner of this server would give a little time investigating this small stuff because if u let this stuff goes on for a long time they will destroy the image of the server, so I suggest u put the right people in charge.

Well, I think GM can make the Hero test a bit more interested if the Draconos is spawn for the play who accept the test only.
Since there are already a decent number of Hero in the server and they are in control of the the Draconos killing. This make other players no chance to become a Hero.
It should be a more fair chance for everyone to take the Hero test.

well i play here and i will say this ..the gms are hardly ever on so looking for help is useless. the forums are just as useless. the players are not player friendly as they claim . so if you are a new player you have to learn by trial and error or hopefully find someone who might help at all.  the donation system i can say is a good one . but the problem here is not everyone can afford to donate and if you can't you can't get the good gears it takes to woe or pvp. speaking of woe dreamer is biased too 3 guilds no fear, annihilation and sky.  why because they are run-ed by gms .no fear being the biggest guild of all .they even have their own hats (bias anyone) .. so it makes it hard for other guilds to compete in woe because those guilds are always the ones winning castle . and most guilds want people with good gears if not you are not getting into a guild .its pretty sad .  it does have its pros . but once again you have to do everything on a learning trial basis because all those things you learned on how to make a build for woe or pvp do not apply here . so vote a lot or donate if you expect to advance here . the hero quest is also a major factor because once again not a lot of people can't afford to donate and its a very costly quest ...even though it is claimed that 20,000 members have done so . also server rules are not followed in any shape or form so i don't see the point in having them . its basically like the old west shoot em type of game do what you want, whenever you want regardless of who you mess over is the attitude here . well that ends that  :)
