Quick question. How exactly did the person get the Thanatos card?
The only ways it could have been given had to have been one of three things:
- The Thanatos was customized with a 100% drop rate
- The card just happened to drop.
- It was given out by a GM
Now anyone with any familiarity with the mob_db knows it is far more trouble than it is worth to edit a monster's drop rate just for one event, so I'd say that rules out the first possibility. The second possibility is laughable, seeing as that Divinity's RMS listing states that the MvP drop is .01%, which is default. So it seems to me that the last option, that it was given, is by far the most plausible scenario.
Not here to throw around accusations or anything, but exactly what kind of GM gives out a Thanatos Card for killing one MvP? Granted, it's not the best MvP card out there, but that doesn't matter - it's still an MvP card. It seems to me that it's more likely that the card was given under the guise of holding an event, especially since based off of the discussions I see on their forums regarding the matter, the Staff was hesitant to remove it from the player in question once it was brought to the community's attention.
Sorry Lysander for the confusion, the MvP card drop rate is .25%. And yes, it was dropped but not by a Game Master. The card, in fact, dropped from Thanatos. The MvP drop rate is now .10%. I need to set that correctly on my RMS page. Yikes.
Actually, the players never ruled that into play. The player who got the card was actually new and invited by a player - little did we know at the time. My server has had no issues with corrupt acts and we sure don't condone that. o.o Clearly, if you read the forum, I said the reason we were hesitant is because
it was unfair to the player to take back something he rightfully won. However, to ease drama... the card was taken - this, might I add, was prior to the wipe.
But honestly, at the end of the day, this thread was created by a player to review the server. It wasn't created for us to dwell on an issue that doesn't have relevance to my community anymore. We are making conscious efforts to ensure we never have a situation like so going forward. It is all about moving forward and not backwards.
