Three questionable reviews.
« on: Jun 05, 2009, 08:15 am »
Hello,

In regard to ElysiumRO's RMS listing, three reviews have been brought to my attention as being questionable. Upon reviewing each comment left, I also felt they should be addressed.

Firstly, a review left by the alias "fireleo". It should speak for itself. I'm very much welcoming of actual feedback so long as it is written in accordance to the policies set forth. As such, I would like to request that it please be reviewed by the administrator heading the review system.

Secondly, a review left by the alias "ShineDown". I'll be the first one to admit, sure, having a perfect score is great and all, however, no server (in my opinion) is deserving of a perfect score and I feel it's an inaccurate representation of my server. We're not perfect at ElysiumRO, try as we may, and as such I would prefer my reviews listed on my RMS page be at the very least accurate of our server. Additionally, I do not find it really fitting in with the policies as it doesn't really give much input.

Finally, a review left by the alias "Communistplease" however signed as "Tsuki". The reviewer who left the review signed their review as "Tsuki", however, as you can see, the alias "Sarien" is the true Tsuki that everyone knows from our server. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, however Tsuki brought this to my attention and I at the very least felt the need to publicly address it to the administration here at RMS so that a check can be made to see whether or not the "Communistplease" user has a background of writing reviews under the assumed identities of others who play on said server(s).

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing your response.

Regards,

you type like Serenity  :o

anyway:

fireleo - I remember he wrote a review on Elysium RO yesterday with a 10/100 score.  His review was deleted with email sent to him of being unreasonable score.  Well it came back with a greater score ... I'll email him again to get him here on this thread possibly to give some base on his review and see what he says.  You can also go ahead and identify him in IP but please only send it in PM to me.

Actually, what's your part to counter the review?  You haven't make a case to point out what is wrong with the review.  Without your words we can only take the opinion of the reviewer as user experience.

ShineDown - It's somewhat around the border of talking nothing about the server.  I'll take your request and delete it.

Communistplease - Username/sign isn't an issue we concern at RMS.  There has to be more than one Tsuki that plays RO imho.  Don't think we can do anything about it.

You might want to tell "Sarien" that referring to other review in his/her review is not allowed, either she delete her review and write a new one or we'll need to edit/delete his/her review.

RMS admins sure do make every attempt to respect privacy of it's users, huh? Though I am working behind the scenes until the server's afloat without me having a hand in anything. I suppose anyone capable enough to speak two languages yet write nearly flawlessly in English all get categorized together. S'allright. S'allright.

In other news, the review by FireLeo has no context. How is it at all reasonable for 1's in nearly all categories? I call s***.

Game Masters
Friendliness: 1 - Right.
Availability: 4 - Yet Calix and Nyx are both on IRC 24/7, Calix has been signed into the game server for all but maybe an hour since it's launch.
Helpfulness: 1 - Right.

Community
Friendliness: 1 - HOWEVER FIRELEO SPECIFICALLY STATES IN HIS REVIEW, "The community is friendly but there is yet to be much form of interaction."
Eventfulness: 1 - Yet I specifically gave Elysium hourly event scripts for them to use, yet there have been three events held in the three days the server was up since this person's review? 50+ people line up in Prontera for the hourly Dice events, at least 10-20 people compete in the tri-hourly Scavenger Hunts? s*** that there's never anything going on.

Game-play
Economy: 1 - How is a one reasonable? Oh let's take a look in-game then.
Guild Competition: 1 - Oh, there's no guilds? Okay, let's again take a look at this.
Class Balance: 4 - Not even going to bother.

Server
Stability: 4 - I'll let this slide since the first 36 hours were chaos, however Calix fixed what was wrong, voila, now there's no issues.
Availability: 6  - Server's online 24 hours a day now that the errors have been fixed.

Calix, don't bother replying. I'll happily take the heat for this one, as always.

On alot of servers now they pull away from the fountain in prontera, that's kind of a symbol of the base town of ro.  Makes me sad sometimes that there are no venders there at different servers.

I'd say that's still higher than a 1.

That's true.

Why should a negative score review be taken down?  It's his own experience, not the scientifical test of holy judgement, where you have to pull in every factor in the place.  If he chooses to score it like that, I think he should be allowed.  As long as his review in itself(the text) is not breaking any rules.

Everyone who holds any command over the English language types like Serenity.

Except for the part with typos and wigs.
It's rare that I come to RMS anymore. I won't see any messages you leave me here.

My apologies for the late response; supporting players in-game for the past 24 hours has taken priority over addressing these three reviews.

I imagine it goes without saying, what Serenity has posted pretty much sums it up (though your delivery could have been a bit more tasteful, I'll give you credit for taking the time to write a response).

As for "who" Fireleo is, I do not provide the IP addresses or the personal information of the players of my game server. Again, my apologies, however RMS and it's affiliates will not receive such information upon request, just as I would expect the administration of this website to not divulge the identities of it's own users through either their IP address or personal information found throughout the internet.

I digress, Tsuki has been informed to edit his review to leave out the comment regarding who he is, however the "100%" and "24%" reviews still pend review from you, yC. As you can clearly see from the "evidence" that Serenity has posted, the person at question not only contradicted themself in their review, however, they also made claims that are not supported by the presented counter "evidence". Take the time to read Serenity's "wall of text" as you more commonly refer to his posts as, and you will notice for yourself the discrepancy with the review at question.

Regards,
Calix

I thought I deleted ShineDown's review last time, anyway I forgot.  Now it's gone.  Sorry about that.

For Fireleo's review.  I totally respect that you are holding onto your privacy policy.  That only mean we can't apply the IP rule, no big deal we will work on the alternative procedure.

Because at the time there was no counter argument made to his review (until Serenity posted).  Upon reading the first post I sent an email to Fireleo to try and get him to reply to this thread, given he will do so in a timely manner.  (as mentioned above)

It would be wrong on my part if I first informed him yesterday (that we will give him time ...) and then now delete his review without letting him explain further.  With all fairness, say we will give him 3 days to make a reply we still have 1.5 more days to go.  If he don't show up by Monday to make his case, we'll take Serenity's wonderful post into consideration and most likely delete the review.

Thank you for your patience Calix.  I hope you understand my point there.  I am not denying anything in Serenity's post.

Could I also ask what is the role of Serenity since he is representing you on the case now ... I didn't know bringing his name up would actually bring him here in front of me, what a pleasant surprise.

/off-topic

Btw does making a guess of who type like who have anything to do with privacy huh?  Don't mind me I have a lot of weird relation between people.  Like I sometimes think horo is like zone, Xarale is like LiteX, hutchy is like silverstream, parameter is like poisonwolf etc lol.

(Sorry for my suckie English to Serenity's standard, I know it is a pain for him to read this ...)

Have a great day everyone.

Greetings again,

Thank you for taking the time to write your response, yC. Your attention on the matter is very much appreciated.

In regard to Serenity's relation to Elysium, he has provided means for the original hardware for the server as well provides our web hosting services from the web hosting company he works at in addition to passing over a few of the listing accounts over my way (old voting sites so that we could carry over the credits still on them since he prepaid their services while still hosting his own server).

As far as his representation, I'm sure we can all agree that he has a very unique manner in handling things, to say the least. As for Elysium, we are a stand-alone entity and hold no claim over his actions, as he is not part of our administrative team. While I will applaud him for jumping to our case, I would much rather have preferred these matters be handled more delicately as I do not share the same ... tactics as he.

Once more I digress, I have had many assumptions thrown my way and frankly, I care not to address things that hold no legitimate value; as such I don't. For those who care to believe what they wish to believe, it is their right as a human being. Don't get me wrong, it does sometimes get annoying but that's part of the politics of RO.

I respect your decision regarding FireLeo's review and anxiously await the reasoning behind their, in my eyes, conflicting and slanderous review. Thank you however for removing ShineDown's, as I would much prefer an honest review over a biased and uninformative one.

If Hutchy were SilverStream, there would be no way she would have been selected to be a forum moderator for Elysium. I've had far too many horror stories, if you will, be shared with me regarding Thor/Mini Mage's activities while on AnimaRO.
As for Zone, from what I understand he's a top notch guy and would make an excellent addition to anyone's team. Not sure who the others are you mentioned.

Once more, thank you again for your time and your support in handling these cases.

Warm Regards,
Calix - ElysiumRO.com

Since the server has only been up for a few days, have you gotten any spesific bad feedback from the players?

I would imagine a bigger fuzz then a few reviews if something was very bad.

Offtopic;

Oh god, I remember MiniMages posts at animaro, it was like if he was... disabled, or something close to that atleast.
Glad I don't play the same games as him anymore~
