I am pretty sure it's not bribing for review.

If you look at the link, it's the owner who is being kind and ask his players to help me write guides in write.ratemyserver.net (the new beta section).

Which in turn will help advertise his server because guide author are allowed to include a link + banner on each approved guide: http://write.ratemyserver.net/how-to-start-writing/about/

It's not really bribing so much as offering a reward for writing a review. Hell, in the entire quote you posted in there, the only thing is said as "Write a Review", not "Write a good review". Nor does it say anywhere in the thread that you have to post a good review either. It may just be a case of misreading, but if you're posting this to help turn people away from a server that they could potentially want to play on, then stop twisting words.

Also, about the whole "I'm not banned", thing: At least be honorable enough to use your name in game when posting this, rather then hiding behind a new account so no-one knows who you are. It's cowardly.

It wasn't even for reviews. I was offering players cash shop points for writing GUIDES on the new write RMS section. This was to help RMS, not RRO.

Mod please lock this topic.

I don't actually remember a thing about any reviews(if there was, then most likely NOT related to the reward). This has been mistaken with guides, and the advertising in the guides is legal(the HTML code could be changed anyway if someone wanted to adjust the ad, right?).

Not on the same server, but who said that a ban can break up a couple?

What's "noobish" is not responding when a player or GM is trying to get you to react so that they can be sure you're NOT a bot. Oh well.

Wow. You donated to a server, so therefore, you should be exempt from the rules. Typical cafe player mentality. Go hang with the botters and hackers on pRO.

It makes me sad when people think that because they donated they can ignore the rules a server has in place. :<

Hence why I'm strongly against having donation items on my servers. I've dealt with donators in the past who botted or duped, and then used "But I paid your server fees!". Like I care. You donated, and now you're cheating, goodbye.

I agree completely, though most servers actually instill that mindset into people who donate. So when they actually leave the server they're at and make they're way to another server, they spread that mindset and basically begin to infect the whole Donation Population. (i wasn't trying to rhyme)

Not saying whose right whose wrong, I believe both has some faults.

But I just want to mention I had to ban some one who donated over $1000 to my server before, it felt kinda good.

I've had those type of days, a donor does something and believe they are treated differently just because they donated, gets old after so many use that line "But I donated" -- "I donated so I think I deserve a little more priority" etc etc.

Luckily, its never gotten bad enough for me to have to ban some one, would have to hear a whole lot of whining ^^
