A picture tells a thousand words,

So, I jump on their server after seeing a report of them advertising on the server I play:



Basically, I played their server for a little bit. Well, more like chatted with the two actual players who were also from servers these guys advertised on. Asked a couple of basic questions, the GM's couldn't give answers (go figure).

But the buck doesn't stop there, folks! Not at all, they've also stolen web content/banners/desktop backgrounds and more and have claimed them as their own. Taking a look through their GRF archive, I'm willing to bet they got a lot of it's contents from EssenceRO (a lot of the same items appear), but the best part is, they double patched all their collection images. Why take up a little bit of space when you can take up MORE space by adding double your files to the same GRF even though one copy of the files don't work or get used at all? Pretty pro, seriously.

And then of course, epic lulzies happening on their forum's shout box. Their GM telling a player to use RebirthRO's full installer:

lol ... i never knew "offer to play the server", "95 or higher" can be an incentive for review.  I will take care of this eventually (busy right now) but the screenshot is good.

While I am going to suspend the said server for:

Server owners caught attempting to manipulate reviews or review results in any way (including, but not limited to: telling players to give a high score, telling players they must write a good review, writing multiple reviews on any server to inflate/deflate rankings, associating server score, number of review or server ranking with any server goal or event, blackmailing players in exchange for reviews) will receive a warning and/or suspension from the server listing.

I too have to warn the reporter a little on the action taken to obtain the "proof".  It started with Serenity jumping into the other server based on a report of one of his player.  Then Serenity made a new reviewer account to rate the said server badly.  Nobody know if this is a cause and effect or the other way around. 

Obviously the review resulted in the "proof" screenshot, so that mean if Serenity didn't rate the server badly in the first place the "proof" wouldn't be there.  I kind of feel bad that the server owner didn't handle the bad review properly.  The intent of the bad review is questionable to begin with.  Because if I were to get a report from the owner and investigate further.  It is obvious to me that the reviewer's IP is all over the owner account of ElysiumRO and SerenityRO.  Given that, I have reason to believe it is a case of owner rating bad on other server.  Plus the review mentioned it advertise on other server.  Sort of like the typical revenge case that I delete a lot.  Too bad it's too late to give them a case now.

Anyway, I am not going to argue the content of the review because the server is getting a ban anyway.  I am just wondering the reason why did anyone bother to made a new account and rated the server badly instead of just going straight to the hall of shame with the rest of the info.  Not to mention it is more like "looking for attention if not a fight or compensation" when you rated a server badly and then went into their game with the same char name as the reviewer.  Isn't it way too easy to spot?  Especially on a small server.  Though the method employed to obtain the proof was questionable, it's not important now.  I can only hope other server owners would handle bad review the right way.

Thank you for reporting.  I am done with the report part but the topic is hard to split into another to go into hall of shame.  I'll lock this one here and if the OP wishes the rest of the info can be recreated in a new topic that goes into hall of shame.
