I'm planning on adding a CP to my server, but I'm not sure which to go with. There are a couple out there with good features, but I'm still unsure which to go with.

What I want out of this thread is feedback on which CP is the best in your opinion based on it's features and experience using it.
Below I have listed some features I would like the CP to have. Doesn't mean the CP your suggesting has to have all.

QuoteFeatures:
Registration
Email Validation to register, change e-mail, change pass, and password recovery
Recover Pass
Change Pass
Online Users (Number and List of names)
Server Status
Guild/WoE Ranking
PvP Ranking (Sorted by Job and Overall)
Zeny Ranking
Reset Location to save point
Reset Look
Server information page (Rates, Amount of Characters, Class Breakdown, Guilds)
Donation Points? I think only FluxCP has this, so if I'm correct just ignore this feature.

GMs:
Account banning/blocking
Offline Jailing
Viewing/Modifying Account information (IP's, ID's, Login, Password, E-mail)
Viewing/Modiying Character Information (Inventory, Storage, Cart, Stats, Zeny, Items, etc)

Another thing is, I was going to go with FluxCP, then I heard from a couple people that it has already been hacked many times on various servers. So please don't suggest that.

Self-made. Default CPanels kinda makes a server look like any other eA server. Not to mention that those CPanels are open source, so if an exploit is found anywhere, any server running that CPanel will be vulnerable.

But overall, Flux seems to have the most features.

Amayax

Well, like I said, I like FluxCP, would of gone with it if it didn't have security issues.

I also would make it if that was an option for me ;P

DeePee

Well, honestly, I think most public CPs have exploits, whether people know them or not. Flux is used by a lot of (big) servers already, so that would mean all of them have a security risk. Yet they all run just fine, so I think it's not as bad as it seems.

Amayax

I suppose. It's just I haven't heard good things about FluxCP security wise. So it is a bit of a let down.

Ailinea

I haven't heard of Flux being so unsecure, but then again I haven't talked to as many people as you probably have.  Just don't use Sereon, it's a POS.

Is Ceres still a working CP?  I've only seen it briefly, not sure what features it offers, but it had a nice interface.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick donkey.  And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Well I just suggested to my to-be server host to upload all the CP's they offer to a subdomain so it gives future and current clients a test drive of what each does, incase they are like me and have no clue. When they have that complete(hopefully) I'll give that a go. But I'd still like your opinions because the CP test drive they will have is limited, and I wouldn't know if it is totally secure or not.

Right about now I might go with Ceres since it was the CP that was suggested the most to me. Keep the suggestions coming please. It is great help.

Also, Thank you to those who have replied in here. Greatly appreciate it.

@Ailinea

Thanks for the heads up.

*Edit*

Actually, you guys have any CP's I should stay away from at all costs? Might be easier to narrow down my choice this way actually.
So..either suggest a CP to use, or suggest one to stay away from. Your choice ;P

You heard Flux isn't secure? Lol.
Whoever you talked to must have no idea what they're talking about.
I'd be more than happy to look into any 'exploits' or 'insecurities' with FluxCP.

Edit: I think they must believe that FluxCP is somehow related to how FluxRO got 'hacked', which is obviously not the case if you comprehend the English language in any way, sort, or form.
If you properly read our home page, www.fluxro.com, you would understand it was a global cross-datacenter hack that wiped hundreds of thousands of sites due to a bug in container management software (HyperVM) created by LxLabs, and has absolutely nothing to do with FluxCP.
Be 110% sure that if FluxCP were found in any way to be insecure, we would do our best to fix it as soon as possible.
But if someone that knew about coding practices and standards (i.e. PEAR) would review our code, they would see absolutely no problem with it.

If someone chooses to accuse the CP of insecurities, don't be a moron and ask them for proof.

Heard it from a couple people from my server when I was asking them in-game.

But since I got it confirmed about FluxCP from someone we both know. I may go with it, or Ceres.

*Edit*

Well, on my eAthena thread I asked someone to confirm FluxCP being insecure. Didn't get any help in there, so I edited my copy and paste here and took that part out because I assumed I wouldn't be getting any feedback on that. Thanks though.

Paradox924X

I would be more than happy to discuss this here or in PM or MSN with whoever believes and sufficient proof of any insecurities.

Amayax

MSN is easier. Just ask Ron for it. ;]

Amayax

Added on MSN anyways.

May someone please close this? I have a decision now. =]

Thanks again to everyone who helped.

Paradox is the best xD

I use FluxCP and I love it.

It was made by intelligent people and as far as I know it does not have any exploits or it wouldn't be use at all. Don't you think?

Also, a quick google search for 'Powered by Flux Control Panel' will show you how many websites use FluxCP.
I'm sure if there was even the slightest insecurity, I'd have heard something about it.
And since I haven't and you have yet to receive confirmation from anyone, I'll be sure to disregard this as the result of a miscommunication.
