P.S: In a SHRS, If you can max level in 30 minutes or less, put a 1 click leveler. There is no point in leveling if its waaay to easy. But basically super high rate is whatever you want to do with it to me. Just don't NPC spam.


Well thats just a quick opinionated do and don't list for different server ratings. Also remember this is in my opinion so feel free to say what you would and wouldn't do as well.

Because people want to play RO?

There is always the option to pay the 12 bucks a month you know. Hell the only proper thing for a server to do is change it around enough that it is a unique experience from official RO. That way private servers are not simply "RO for free" but a unique community and games which arise from the base that is RO but are in fact quite different and worthwhile in and of itself.

And heck your server should not just be for people who just want ro for free either, not exactly getting the cream of the crop are you?

I see the validity of both points.
However I believe that there's a lot more customized and/or donation hungry servers out there than there are kRO "clones" that have removed the negative aspects Foam Cleaner mentions.

I dig the idea of customless servers at decent rates- grinding for days is boring.

First off I said it was opinionated. I made sure to bring that point across like 5 times. Secondly Both types of servers are good. But most of the people that like low rates only play them because they don't want p2p. How many times have you seen a server go big as low rate with a goldroom and a mall, with easy to obtain customs. Its no fun. If you were going to add those things they should be modded. Like mall should have all regular equips from the shops. Those are perfect in my opinion. I asked for you all to post your idea of one also.

Well that's pretty straightforward, I don't play M/H/SH anyway so: Get a dedicated host, take iRO, get rid of Kafra Shop, monthly fee and dual clienting, increase all rates by 10, start giving a damn, done.

I like the idea of logarythmic increase for drops because 10x is a lot and doesn't scale well, but I'm too lazy to actually check the raw numbers.

Define "customs" please. I have many, yet im not sure what you mean by that.
Custom headgears? Custom features? Custom @commands? @custom mobs? Custom job classes? Custom skills?

Question, why do you want DIALY events for normal gears? Mainly on a low rate? Get free stuff everyday and not have to work for it? You shouldnt be on a low rate server if you have that in your mind.

If that is all someone deos to set up a server, then how did they give a damn? The only thing that decides if you should run a server is your ability to get a host? That is it? No coding knowledge required...just set it up and forget it and let the donation money roll in! Woohoo!
