Sup Forum. I'm planning to setup my first online server (tired of doing the locally hosted ones) and before buying my vps can anyone suggest some good server specs that i can use? Expected Server population: 50-200. Thanx :D

system in place as long as you have low amount of donations else I suggest.. SoftLayer, but they don't come in cheap, reliable hosting though.

You'll need at minimum 512mb of RAM, but I'd recommend 768 to 1024 if you can afford it. Keep in mind that running a Linux based VPS will be MUCH cheaper than running a Windows VPS. If you run a Linux VPS, you can easily get by with 512mb (dedicated) RAM and a 20gb HDD. I highly recommend to Ubiquity to all of my clients for hosting: http://ubiquityservers.com

Ubiquity is pretty good host. It has a firewall as well to protect you from any bruteforce/ddos attacks. Very quick Ticket system as well.

I find it a bit laggy for my players, so I switched over to JaguarPC hosting. So far so good.

Linode is also a really good company. You pay a premium but they have one of the best (if not the best) customer service, and an awesome in-house control panel.
