I remember that jRO had over 10k+ players in total of all its servers but i am not 100% sure, i've seen that info on this topic:

iRO has about 2000 players of which about 1800 are bots. True story.

ggwp

idRO have more player than jRO but total non bot player are less than number bots in Magmaring / Bradium Golem maps.
In those map you can find an entire full bot party less than 20 tile beside other full bot party.
True story.

Since I just logged on iRO classic yesterday, might as well provide the information here:
- 550 players
- when I played 2 years ago, almost every player I met was a bot (around 90%), but now it seems like only every second player, so let's just say 275 players / 275 bots

PhilO

I have never seen a bot.how do they behave?just static,or do they move around?

Playtester

Most of them are Thieves and they don't reply to you when you talk to them. They move around, usually attacking the nearest monsters or if no monster is in visible range they walk seemingly random.

fRO (european official which everyone seems to outright ignore) has around ~800 or so players, even more on WoE days.

800 PLAYERS? WHY ISNT THERE AN OFFICIAL SERVER THAT HAS POPULATION HIGHER THAN PRIVATE SERVERS? WTF

how's botting there?  minimal?
Super Smash Brothers 64!

Karuna-tan

Botting is almost non-existant, due to our GMs and CHs being pretty active every day.

There are, but those are asian servers pretty, like jRO and kRO.

kRO doesn't have more than 1000 players either really. =p

But in Japan RO is still very popular. No wonder, all the changes on jRO are really good (the most annoying renewal mechanics removed, all imbalanced 3rd party skills removed, old exp system, still supporting all positive renewal features like quest log, world map, monster HP, markers, etc.).

Also I think the brasilian server (bRO) is pretty popular too?

And yeah while iRO has 2000 players on the renewal servers and euRO only has 800 players, I'm almost sure that euRO still has more legit players playing than iRO. If I didn't hate renewal so much I'd go for euRO for sure (but since I do hate it, I have to live with iRO classic).

Karuna-tan

jRO is basically your OP broken item playground where leveling is no effort. To put it simply.

Playtester

Not really. Leveling is much harder than on other RO servers because they use the pre-renewal exp table.
