Hello =)

The idea came yesterday into my mind but grew quickly. First of all, I need to explain a bit how are the pserv in France:
French pserv aren't like the international pserv that we can see on ragnarok top, with 1000, 2000 players and 3 servers at the same time. Actually, the biggest french pserv should have, i think, about 300-400 players. Not so big huh ? But that's not so bad, and it builds a little and friendly community in each serv. However, in the middle pserv, there isn't any difference between servers, just a little difference of rates (one is 30x 30x 25x for example, another 50x 50x 30x) and it is not really original. I don't know much, but i know that in my friends, there's a lot of "déjà-vu" when they play on servs like that. Rates don't change so much, and there's always the same players. Maybe some like that, but i know that others want some change, which will bring sthg new and rise their motivation.
And here's come my idea.
What's new ? The PK serv. There isn't any french middle PK serv actually (the only french PK serv is a RP serv with very low rates), and you need to know that most of the players in France are players who began 4 years ago. For most part of them, all they want is PvP / WoE. That's why i wanna make this serv.
However, i don't think that just the PK mode is sufficient. I need a new system, but not too customized, and that's why i need your advice. French players don't like when it has too many custom, and i fully understand that. So i want to make sthg original but not too original, which bring sthg new but not too new. Seems hard, no ? x) You're not french players, but you do have an experience of RO, so you can say if you find sthg too custom or not, if sthg is good or if it doesn't fit with the serv, etc.

Main characteristics
  • Base xp: from 20 to 50 (not certain yet)
  • Job xp: from 20 to 50 (not certain yet)
  • Drop:
    • x30-40 for items
    • 0.5% Card
    • from 0.01 to 0.1% MvP & Mini boss Card
  • 99/70 (99/50 non trans)
  • 150 dex for instant cast
  • 190 aspd max

Party
  • 20 players max
  • +50-100% bonus xp / player
  • (No xp gain after 20 sec afk) <-- Not sure yet

Reset
  • Unlimited
  • 250k ea, 400k both
  • One unique reset map / target for SG for 500k

Quest
  • Base xp: x20-50
  • Job xp: x20-50
  • No need to do the quest to enter in a dungeon (ex: Bio3, Rachel, etc.)
  • (Job change quest must be done)<-- Not sure yet
  • (No platinium skill NPC)<-- Not sure yet
  • Quest for @changegm (dunno what type of quest it will be, just know that there will be a quest)


Server specificities

PK mode
  • Allowed everywhere (field & dungeons) except in towns
  • You don't lose 1% when you die
  • (Gain xp when you kill someone ?) <-- I'm not very sure if it's a good thing or not

I will also make a quest point system (PQ) to limit access for certain NPC or advantage, or for items like Sunglasses. Most of the french middle have Warp / Heal / desloter for free access. I think playing is too easy with that NPC in free access, that's why i want to limit their use. PQ can be obtained by quest, instance (i'll talk about it later) or event. It will be an item like Poring Coin or sthg like that, but not tradable. The system is not very clear, but you have to know that they wont be so common: player will have about 10-15 PQ i think, not much more. One instance will give 1 PQ, and some quests (hard quest :p) maybe more like 3 or 4.
Quests points
  • Can be tradable with some items:
    • Bubble Gums (5 PQ)
    • Battlefield Manual (3 PQ)
    • Giant Butterflywing (2 PQ)
  • Can unblock services like:
    • Healer (certain amount of PQ and it unblocks it permanently)
    • Desloter (3-4 PQ for each deslot i guess)
    • Dungeon warper (certain amount of PQ and it unblocks it permanently or 1 PQ for 30 Warp dungeons for example, i don't know yet)
  • Is an ingredient for item quest:
    • Sunglasses [1] (5 PQ for example)
    • Alice Doll (5 PQ)
Instance
They won't be like Sealed Shrine or Orc Memorial, but better like that. A custom instance so. Basically, it's just a map with different rooms. Monsters in each room, some mini bosses and one or two MvP at the end. Great for xp, there will be some custom treasure box at the end i think, with little gifts (like OCA, maybe Elu box, basic stuff like Silk Robe, etc) and also PQ. Different type of instance, with different level so different rewards (an instance with mob like Ancient Mummy or so will be easier than an instance with Morroc Shadow or so). Instance must be done with a team, certainly with a minimum of 6-7 players, i'm not sure yet.


That's it for the caracteristics, now i will try to explain why i choose that. In most part of the actual middle fr pserv, players always have an account with a Snip, an account with a Priest, one with a SL and finally their main characters. They sometimes also have a Bragi, a Popo maker, etc. Player can play "alone", 'cause they have everything for that. That doesn't encourage the teamplay. However, it will be a PK serv, and as you know, a team of killers is far more effective as a killer alone. And playing with a party is always funnier, no ? One of the most important goal of these caracteristics is to "force" players to make party(in fact, not force 'cause i want players to want to make party). When you have the choice of PvP in 1 vs 1 or 5 vs 5 with friends, what do you choose ?
The server will be found on PvP. If player plays, it's because they like PvP. So everything has to be done to enhance that. PK / PvP / WoE will be the 3 words of the serv' x).
First of all, that's why i choose some middle rates. Low rates doesn't allow to focus too much on PvP, 'cause you spend most part of your time at xp / drop. And it is far too long to have a good char on a low rate. People want to PvP, not to drop their stuff.
The high bonus xp per player in team is here for that. With +100%, xp in a party is freakin' easy. You can easily go from 1/1 Novice non trans to 99 / 70 trans in one or two days. The unlimited reset is also here to make life easy, and let Scholar or Sage go from Bolter to support for example, or HP to go from TU build to WoE build.

Now, i will maybe talk about sthg that intrigue you:
Why this strange "No xp gain after 20 sec afk ?" As i said, i want players make party, and allow them to autoleech is not a good idea for that. This server will make people focused on one, or two char, not 15, because some advantages will be only 1 char per account for example. That's maybe not how middle works, i can agree with that. I think this serv is in the middle of the way between low and middle.
