Hello my dear ones! I am working on the creation of a new server and I come through this forum to do a quick search to identify what you are most attracted to in an updated renewal server and would like to take a minute of your time to help me by answering this little poll. Thanks in advance!

P.S.: And sorry for any grammatical error, because I'm not fluent in English  /sob

What criteria would you look for in a new server with renewal system?

Rate Server: ?X / ?X / ?X
Drops of common and MvP equipments: ?X / ?X
Drops of common and MvP Cards: ?X / ?X
Automatic Events: Yes or No? / If Yes, what frequency?
Hats by quest: Yes or No? Why?
Custom Items: Yes or No? Why?
Custom Maps: Yes or No? Why?
Mob / MvP Custom: Yes or No? Why?

Depends on the automated events, no human interaction is boring.

Hats by quest: Yes or No? Why?
Yes. I would prefer a quest with a story line, not one where you hunt items and grind. Those are boring af and just a waste of time.

Custom Items: Yes or No? Why?
Yes, because it's easy to get non customized items with the rates i mentioned above.

Custom Maps: Yes or No? Why?
Yes, for the same reason as above. It's easy to get bored of the original content with the rates above. You kill and hunt items too easily.

Mob / MvP Custom: Yes or No? Why?
Yes, for the same reason above.

From 10x to 150x.

Drops of common and MvP equipments:
MvP lower than 10x. Common between 10x and 50x.

Drops of common and MvP Cards:
MvP lower than 10x. Common between 10x and 50x.

Automatic Events: Yes or No? / If Yes, what frequency?
Yes. If they are original, better. It tells me you're capable of doing something.
Frequency: Every hour.

Hats by quest: Yes or No? Why?
Yes. If they are original, better. It tells me you're capable of doing something.

Custom Items: Yes or No? Why?
Yes. It tells me you're capable of doing something.

Custom Maps: Yes or No? Why?
Yes. It tells me you're capable of doing something.

What Zinnia said. I actually gave my reply out of pity... And you should probably ask why a person prefers the rates they mentioned...
For me, it's because I'm a veteran player who doesn't have time for grinding.

Yeah. We all have our preferences.
I prefer low for the challenge and mid because the grind is a bit bearable.

Your best bet is to ask your own network of players since you'll be much more likely to get personal contacts to join your server, and having any starting population at all is incredibly important. People need to see existing activity in order to think that it's worth the wait for a server to release.

If you don't have a network, find a hole in the market and see if there's demand.

Right now there are literally no 99/70 pre-Renewal midrates (or even high lowrates). Been awhile since I've touched RO, so I don't know if there's significant demand for that though right now.

This. Just find your own niche. Also good advice for any type of business outside of Ragnarok servers.

That's exactly the reason I didnt play in quite a while. 

@darwen: It's kinda weird to me that you want to start a server but have no plan on what to do other than "updated renewal". Theres a big difference between a low/mid-rate community and a high-rate community. Maybe it's just me but it does not sound like a very convincing project if you dont have your own input (maybe you do, i cant see that from your post).

I personaly dont enjoy renewal so my input about rates etc. would be wrong here.

150/150/150 or above. as long as leveling up to max wont take me a day without items

100% / 25%. Normal drops should drop quite fast. only miniboss/mvp drops should be the harder ones.

100% / 1-2%. same reason as above.

Yes. There should be Automated events. I would like a custom gambling event like poring race and such.
Frequency :  every 1 or 2 hours.

Yes. Hats/Headgears should be questable for easier access to stronger equips.

Yes. BUT it should only be for Costumes. renewal with OP custom item will easily take over the server.

Yes. Custom maps for the main town,mall/vending area, guild bases, dungeons and fields, and instances.

Yes. A Harder/Challenging mob and MVP along with its own dungeon/field or instance.


Reasons why I went along with these:
1.) I dont have time to grind levels.
2.) Normal equips should be easier to provide basic needs.
3.) Same as above.
4.) Automated events are just for extra fun.
      For the gambling, the only gambling on ragnarok is the comodo one (correct me if im wrong)
      so it would be fun to have one.
5.) Headgear Quests for an access to stronger equips.
    Also, I would like that quest to have a sense rather than hunting the items.
6.) I feel like the custom equips will break a server down, since it will provide more impact than the equips already present.
    Ragnarok items are already strong, so why make a stronger item? - personal preference
7.) Custom maps are always good to have. it always gives the "New look" effect.
8.) Custom mobs/mvps are really awesome if done correctly.
    although it must have a custom item too, a costume w/ +1 stat wont be so bad.
    Im that guy who prefers PvM than PVP on renewal

Based on personal preferences and my suggestion as I am currently looking for a new server with these.

I actually prefer a pre-renewal with lots of custom stuffs (non-imbalance of course), because the Episode offers very limited content lol
...do comment if you actually willing to hear in pre-renewal perspective  /heh

[Topic Starter] should reply now and then... so peoples posting are motivated to go "further" in their ideas.
Hiding your actual skills, require even higher level of skill to make it done.
