LETS GET ALL LOW RATE SERVERS TO ONE!

I think the point of argument here is that we WANT ONE. Lets ignore the obvious fact that everyone prefers 'something' different in their opinion of a server, and make a time limit for this thread to clear it out, make votes, refine it and get a general acceptance from the RMS community. What do you guys say? 

* The first thing we would need to do is make a server information post (rates, customs required,...) whatever to be added, in detail, WHY we should add those features, etc., and then we can argue about if those will work or not. Everyone makes their own post and we can make a general acceptance later on. I think this way everyone can voice their opinion on the matter.

* Let there be a strawpoll like this one http://strawpoll.me/1491466 (I apologize, i do not know if links are allowed). It's just an example; maybe we can make a GENERAL one where people can vote directly, and we can evaluate it in a month.

* Decide who's going to run the server... We all know GM's and others who have been dedicated, smart, and fair; which is what we expect from any good GM. My personal opinion is *PureRO and AthereaRO* 's GMs. Personally, i think these two were extremely good and dedicated, especially PureRO's staff who held their own even with the low population crisis as long as they could. If it's anyone to run the server, i would vouch for them.

* Forget the fact that this will never work. Because considering low rate servers in RO right now, it is very hard to find a 'good' home. It's all opinions, just POST.

Let the community join up. Let's make this thread work to our benefit, make it popular and make a forum-wide decision. Lets hype this enough so that everyone knows about it. THIS IS OUR SERVER, WE MAKE THE RULES. LETS DO IT.

Generally its like If the server doesnt start with 150-200 Users in the first day or two. It wont have a good future neither competitive WoE.

And that's exactly why this idea does not work, that's what I'm trying to explain. You want ONE server and you want everyone to play on it. Why not TalonRO? Why not heRO? Why not whatever other existing server that people enjoy? You're forcing your ideas on people by limiting them to one server. That is never going to work and will never happen.

You saying "not everyone likes buyable MVP cards" is completely contradicting your own point. After all, not everyone will like the features that your "one" server will have. What if your server has a warper. Just like you saying "not everyone likes buyable MVP cards", I can say "not everyone likes a warper". It's exactly the same.

Your poll is another perfect example. It is only going to work if everyone votes exactly the same. If there are people voting something different and you choose what the majority prefers, that means the people who voted something different will not like it. They will still pick another server.

All this will result in is a server that some people on RMS like. That still means the majority will seek something that they like.

A better idea would be a section or forum that recommends only secure quality servers and reviews are not just advertisements instead.

   You said i'm "forcing my ideas onto people" ... Let me be clear. I'm merely suggesting my opinion here. On the other hand, "why not everyone just join Talon", or "THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN" sounds just pessimistic and condescending on your part. I'm not dissing Talon here; it's a great server for people who like it easy. But this thread isint about existing servers. Believe me, if everyone wanted to join Talon, they already would've. There's a reason why people keep waiting for the perfect server. If people think Talon is good, then let them join. I personally detest any server which makes an RPG look too easy. That's just my opinion; please understand before dissing me when i'm desperately trying so hard here    no reason for shots to fire.

  This is not about who's right or who's wrong, or if the server we're proposing will be the perfect one. there may be kafras to warp which people might not like, even i dont. But this is not about a single person. I would gladly oblige if the majority wants it. There's one thing you have to understand is that there are so many servers with 20-30 people which have a LOT OF POTENTIAL while still being almost similar in nature. That's the problem here, can you see it?

  What I propose here is, lets avoid that completely. Lets make something like Talon , or some other official server which serves the majority here. People dont have to wait for a random server to appear on the 'Server Advertisement' section anymore. Let the RMS community decide what they wish. Even though you might think a server like what we talk here may never arise, This might still give an opening for one, but definitely worth trying for.
2014 was a bad year for low-rate Server players and i guess we can all agree on that.

Whoever is stuck in this phase of server-finding where the only problem is low population will be glad that this is happening. LET THE EXISTING SERVERS BE. We dont care. If u guys recommend something, then suggest it and i'll be glad to join. What we need here is just more interaction  and i'm pretty sure it might lead to something

  P.S: Again, this is not majorly about creating a server. It's about uniting low-rate server players with similar interests who don't want to seperately play different servers, but rather join up in one OR more servers.

      Well the first and main interesting factor about low rate servers are trying hard and farming ,making parties to get stuff.Your server just gave everything for free on a low rate.The worst any low rate could get. idk how ppl play it though. Well you made good money outta it,no wonder.You cant expect yours to be the low rate everyone wants to be on. As you mentioned there are ppl who like different stuff like whatever you did on your server but there are more ppl who hate making a low rate server into a MVP cards/item market. So as much as you think ppl like your server there are 2x ppl hating it.


   We are just here to open up our ideas about a good low rate server and how are people's expectations about it.We are not here to talk about Talon RO. If people think they like Talon they'll join it no worries. This is for people like us who's been expecting a new good low rate server as its been long since we had a good one. WE don't give a s*** about the existing servers.

P.S .This is just about uniting people who are playing low rates to a single server rather than them playing in multiple servers. Nuff with your server and your MVP cards, You can have them all and enjoy your stay at Talon ggwp.

There's a reason why people keep waiting for the perfect server.

No one is waiting for the perfect low rate server. They found it, quit RO, or moved to higher rates. The low rate category has around ten unique servers with 50+ players. The rest are clones with 0-2 people. People are where they want to be.

While I would be happy with a close-to-official server without bots and with main chat (I mention this because otherwise I'd just play on iRO classic) and at least 500 players, I just don't see it happening anymore. I helped alot with creating PureRO and even though there was no corruption and the staff was open to suggestions and carefully evaluated all of them, it still lost most of its population over time and had to close because the donations weren't high enough to pay the server anymore.

You can get quite a lot of people by asking guilds to come to your server, but it seems impossible to keep them for longer than 3 months. There will always be some drama even when there are 0 mistakes from the staff.

I know our memories of old P2P pre-renewal RO and maybe some of the big close to official low rate private servers 3-8 years ago are so amazing and we want to experience them again and show others how amazing it was too, but just like our childhood in general, it's not possible to go back.

There was a "project" for "the last Low Rate RO of our lives", or something like that. Eternity-RO was talking about this, they wanted to call all the well-known guilds and members of the RO community and play what they called "our last adventure".

They got like 2000 register players on the first week at their forums, talking about this project, but suddenly it died. Don't really know what happened there, but i think there's a lot of people who wants an "official" like experience but with a little bit higher rates.

What am i looking for a RO server?... hmm , it'll be something like, No warper, no healer, 99/70, Only custom hats for looks (EuphRO did this, you can put any hat you have into this "donations hats", it was just for looks), no wings or naruto bands, Official Quests. Above 5x below 15x, MVP Card 0.01%

Agreed on all points. Servers at this point but with a few noteable exceptions (TalonRO to name one obvious one) are born with an extremely short shelf life. Things can be perfect from a technical and administrative standpoint, or they can be a trainwreck. Either way, the end result is the same.

There's so many reasons why a close-to-iRO classic server that actually lasts just ain't gonna happen. If I or anyone else anywhere went over that in great detail, it'd be way TL;DR.

There was once a no donating server like iRO because the admin loved to see people playing the game and he liked to log into the server and watch everybody doing that while he was helping everybody with their in game problems, people got bored of it, it died, end.

This actually already happened, twice at least.

As a disgruntled former GM of Atherea I would like to call you a liar, sir.

But anyway this would be neat, and I wish it would happen, but it's not really feasible. Someone could always try to do some sort of poll of all the low-rate players and create a server built for the maximum number of players, but that's all it'll ever be. I miss the days of the low-rates.

Reading about the 'Last adventure' project idea, it makes me kinda want to make a server with like, SUPER LOW rates [IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO .5x rates?!] and make it a finite world, where there's a final boss at the end that requires everyone's cooperation to defeat it... Then the server shuts down, says 'Thank you for playing RO for so long now go get a job ya nerd'.

Maybe it's because I finally got around to watching SAO.
