Kai, as I said before, people are getting pissed off at you because you spamming their emails, on AnthemRO, and even here.
Find an effective way to get people to join.

Also, take a look at http://mail.google.com/mail/help/intl/en/program_policies.html
You are violating the agreement you made with google.

QuoteIn addition to (and/or as some examples of) the violations described in Section 3 of the Terms of Use, users may not:

Generate or facilitate unsolicited commercial email ("spam"). Such activity includes, but is not limited to
sending unsolicited emails to significant numbers of email addresses belonging to individuals and/or entities with whom you have no preexisting relationship

I guess even with this message, you will never get it through your thick skull that people will look down on your server if you spam their email address with your emails.

Effective is the word indeed.
2 Days of Open Beta since the mails were out.
124 Active members on forums.
230 Registered accounts in-game.

Not everyone dislikes these mails you know , some of them appreciate the invite and take a look, then decide to give us a try.
Naturally there are others who find it unfair, being previous unsuccessful server owner who find it unfair that i get to get members this way. Or simply being a person with too much time. and i'm ready to handle their insults in my box & also respond to them in a calm way :)

Also, Put the world COMMERCIAL in bold in your quote.

I see the e-mailed sever invitations as rude for only one reason.

EVERY last one I have thus far gotten looks, feels, and probably is, copy + paste messages, with perhaps my name put into a place where there was probably a blank. Now, if I'd get a nice, pleasant message where the person is perhaps giving me reasons why they sent it to me specifically, and they hold true with things I might have said in this or another forums, then I'd be a lot more likely to at least give it a glance. These '-x-RO is great! Good community, awesome GMs, fun events! Join now! ' e-mails irritate me.

If it feels like it something generically written so it could be mass sent quickly, I'm more than likely going to not consider that server in future hunts, if I ever get interested in RO again. =/ If I get something that makes me feel like that was at least designed to be more informative, and had a hint of being written from scratch for the e-mail given to me, I'll probably at least look it through, or send a reply saying I'm not interested.

Short version, because I almost guarantee you I repeated myself in that : Copy + Paste e-mails = BAD.

Ok, so if I were to bomb your email account with server advertisements, I and everyone in your forums, I wouldn't be doing anything wrong?

By the way, the CAN SPAM act.
Quote# It requires that your email give recipients an opt-out method. You must provide a return email address or another Internet-based response mechanism that allows a recipient to ask you not to send future email messages to that email address, and you must honor the requests. You may create a "menu" of choices to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but you must include the option to end any commercial messages from the sender.

Any opt-out mechanism you offer must be able to process opt-out requests for at least 30 days after you send your commercial email. When you receive an opt-out request, the law gives you 10 business days to stop sending email to the requestor's email address. You cannot help another entity send email to that address, or have another entity send email on your behalf to that address. Finally, it's illegal for you to sell or transfer the email addresses of people who choose not to receive your email, even in the form of a mailing list, unless you transfer the addresses so another entity can comply with the law.

It requires that commercial email be identified as an advertisement and include the sender's valid physical postal address. Your message must contain clear and conspicuous notice that the message is an advertisement or solicitation and that the recipient can opt out of receiving more commercial email from you. It also must include your valid physical postal address.

You failed those two.

as for your stupid commercial comment, I have already covered it and all you could think of is 12 year olds and porn.

Spam
QuoteNOUN: Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail.
By definition, that is spam.
And yes, what do you think advertising is?
Commercial: Adjective.
4. Sponsored by an advertiser or supported by advertising: you are supporting your server by advertising it in those emails that ARE spam.

Did i sent a porn ad to a 12 year old kid?

xD If this was the case, then people have serious issues. There IS a point where there should be common reason. There is a difference between sending me a random e-mail that is generated by copy + paste - to me, unwanted, but not real spam if I only get one - a well thought out message, and a massive rape from the same server, which is completely spam. xD

Zone, you always manage to find that one unguarded point. xD There is a difference between sending me a nice e-mail, and spamming me with fifty of them. If everyone in my various forums did it, then we have a SERIOUS issue, as a lot of people in my various forums have issues using their head. o.o;

Zone

Spam does have it's severities, but nevertheless, it is spam, and many people have complained about it.

Kaid

For info, this is what the mail looks like

Also it was only sent once.

As I said earlier, it doesn't matter if it was sent once, or a thousand times, it is still spam.

Zone

Hence why I change emails, I suggest you send an email to all addresses telling them that people are buying a list of email addresses in which theirs is included, so they should make new email accounts and cancel their current accounts.
