How good is CavaleRO?

I deleted RO a few days ago but just recovered my old full install so that I can get CavaleRO's lite installer.
I really don't have much time these days, so I just want to play RO for a bit.
Questions:
Where is CavaleRO based? Server time is my time, which worries me a bit (US servers are usually more populated than Eur. servs)
Is it a troll-fest or are there somewhat nice people there? I'd like to find a guild for some quick killing, that's why I'm asking. I kind of don't want to run into mostly elitist jerks, especially after my experience with another server I will not mention again here.
How easy is it to get okay-ish gear? I know there's a low-tier mid-tier NPC, but I was wondering if the equips were worth it.

Yeap. What he said. Can't get rid of the occasional trolls but you'll always see me trying my best to. Yeap. We're still in soft opening mode so we still have a lot of ground to cover. Had a semi-successful WoE last night with minimal bugs so hopefully it'll all be fixed by next week's WoE where the other guilds will play.



Do give it a try though. The more the merrier!

Thanks for the info. I did have problems gearing myself up and it kind of deters me from playing champ at least, so I might have to switch to another class. I also ran into a few trolls but I don't mind because most people seem to be cool.

My Trans developer Wynn has his Exams for a month and I dont think anyone else is as trustyworth to make as a developer for the continuation of the trans server project in the meantime. Plus we cant appoint any developer who isn't experienced' enough already in the development of this server, that  doesn't have eamod membership already.

^ I doubt you'll get a lot of players if you do that.
I mean how often do you want to restart again? This was like the 3rd time, not counting how you had 3 servers open at once or tried to at least.. and now you want to give a try for the 4th? in months..?
You're players are going to be elsewhere and not be bothered to return to somewhere they don't know they can trust.

Also he just stays nice and put on Renewal and Nova whenever Seph allows him to. I do Metro by myself, with help from others of course but else alone.
And not to forget, at least those servers stay up

Anyways, it's as Strudel said. I've seen you opening and closing your server so frequently--your players probably won't come back. If you don't have time to be a server owner due to school and such, just don't  try that many times to open up a server again. I've gone through that already (not as many times though). It's just a waste of resources (time and money) from both you and your players.
Might as well be a regular GM or a player somewhere else if you still want to experience RO.
Having too much school work suggests that you'll be like that for a while, so don't try to open up a server in a few months unless you can balance being in school and being an administrator (doubt it at this point) or... don't have school >< lol.

And as for the latter comment, should I say at least there's a server? Not saying that their GM is corrupted or not, but at least their servers have been up for a while? And yeah, Strudel is different from Lai, so not like your comment affects him as much XD...

So, Cavalero, you expect to treat players like cloth pieces and think that in the end they won't mind that? You use once and put in the closet to use later when needed or you feel to use it? Sorry but it's as Yukino said, nobody in their minds will join a server that failed already too many times even if it's super cool as it may be. You may get some people but others will only join it as last resource and last resource is something hard to see because even if there are no server like the XYZ that they played before, they can ask some random to adapt to the good things that XYZ had and make it the new home.

You're also saying that for a month there wouldn't be any updates to the server because the dev the team had would be off for that time but have you even think that in that time you could just do something else more simple and get the players occupied so the dev could have is life and be back after that time. I'm even sure that most of the people, if the server was really fun for them, wouldn't mind a post of "out for some days because of school" explaining the reasons and that the dev would be back after that time. During that time you could try to search another one as an extra addition to the team or use it as a "junior" for a bit and see what he was able to do.

I think you didn't played your servers enough time to see how your players feel. Try it and you will may get some surprises/even see what the server is missing.

No. Just no. I worked with these guys and thought they had a good rep (never played v1 and no one wanted to do my project so I gave it to them) but I realized how stupid I was to do that.

For one he wrecked my trust and everyone's trust, Wynn is barely online, he SUCKS doing maintenance and cracks under pressure unlike the others that I worked with, and he doesn't even know advance coding/developing/scripting.

Players won't go back and play that stupid sh*t because they're insensitive to their players. Hell damn, not being a proud donkey but I was the one keeping it together back there.

I honestly just went with them cause there was no one else to take my project, and realized it was the worst choice of my life.

@Yukino, i have put a lot of time and resources into Cavalero, and from not having any sense of game administration to creating something i enjoy playing was a long road. Valid it has been a roller coaster ride. But im sure not every strong server was successful on the first go. Many well rounded servers have had there share of up and down headaches and thats the process of developing. It was tough getting to these stages, and i wish i had gotten it on the first go. But it is what it is. Development will continue, in hopes of bringing a paradise to players in the future.

@fetus, i cant speak for Wynn. You guys started your own project and as you know i had no input on it. That was your guy's own project even tho it was under the Cavalero name. All i know is Wynn put a lot of hard work into Trans server and it was becoming a very successful server. While Wynn had been working continually, on that project for about 6 months.. and Yes i would have loved to see it fully blossom, but i didn't have a hand in its development so if his studies got in the way of his development. That is between him and his players. Even tho Cavalero will now be in wounds because of it.

Cavalero will continue to progress in its development. You fall and get back up, its the process of growth and maturity. Regardless of what others think, thats what i intend on doing. Theres only one way to strive to success. -Learn from your faults, study your strengths and build it better.
