patience and maturity. These would be the most redeeming qualities for me. Patience will come in handy for players (who just don't understand) or when there is a lack of players. And Maturity for the better judgment of situations

I would like to see a very rare type of GM.

One that knows what they're doing....

Lawl.  :p  But srsly, I would love to see GMs who are Nice, but not door mats, Stern, but not total Jerks, Mature, but knows how to joke around a little, Fun, but not all play no work.  AND who know what they're doing...thats kinda important :3

In a GM Team, I believe that all of them should know what each other are doing and issue similar punishments to similar cases. They should not argue with each other in public as it looks really unprofessional and all of them should follow a set guideline

A team that actually looks at suggestions and tries to implement them, a team should be active, that knows something about RO, and that is professional and will actually help you in-game.

The GM team needs to be push overs, respect the boss, and abuse the players for lolz.

Also notable qualities are:
1. Power tripping and making prison time fun time.
2. Coming up schemes that would generate massive lulz.
3. Manages a ninja troll team.

The guys above me are justing trying to troll you with real opinions.

GMs who can compromise in situations, delegate with players and don't make fast decisions. GMs who understand how players think and understand when to go to the admin rather than trying to solve a problem which they cannot solve.

I think their personality doesn't matter much, they don't have to be robots but their attitude must be mature and sensible and they should be well composed.

This is a nice topic hmmmm.

My ideal GM should be:

- Smart / wise
- Always available for consultation / does not ignore players or have favoritisms.
- Punctual and modest
- Have concerns to his/her server
- Leads by example to his subordinates and doesn't force his staffmembers.
- Not easily blinded with money
- Mature but have a great sense of humor
- Patient, unbiased, dedicated, and honest.
- And last but not the least. Has a good attitude =D

As long as it's someone I can trust, and is nice, It'll be less work for me If I have to go back and check the logs.

While this topic got brought up again.

I would also add that I like GMs that don't bother me when I don't need to be bothered.  Such as when I first joined a server I want to start leveling but some PR GM might start talking to me and be friendly so that I would feel sorry (or might get ban?) if i just say "stfu" or "leave me alone please" ...

If I need a GM i'll find them so they should keep a distance from me.  Anybody feel the same?

I mean I am not a complete newbie and I might not want to know everything about your server until I decided I will stay then the rest is relevant otherwise it is a waste of time.  I understand they are trying to keep me there and show friendliness and the good side of the server but hey I am just not that type that need the tour.  Just like when I go into a shop I prefer to walk around myself rather than a girl follow me around and present me stuff.

Hehe, that's just my personal opinion and preference.  PR GM don't get discouraged and shouldn't stop doing what you are doing.  Maybe if they ask "Would you like an introduction of the server?" first and if I answer "no", there won't be the follow up so they can move on to someone else that might be in need.

Trolls ruin communities,  only trash servers let trolls run rampant.

Someone to keep trolls in line? Yes please. Slayer? No thanks. I find it funny how everyone hates the trolls, yet when you play with them, you'll notice most of them are much better than the average player.

What needs to be slain are those idiots who sit in town all day and have terrible gear. They offer nothing to the game; they don't PvM, don't MvP, don't WoE, don't PvP, don't BG. For some reason they confused a game with a chatroom - and an art one at that where they discuss their Weeaboo nature and their latest anime/manga-esque drawings.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with players who spend more time socializing than playing the game; People play (And enjoy) RO for different reasons, people aren't required to PvP/WoE/BG/MVP/etc etc etc. Bashing them for doing what they want is just silly.

As for trolls, if they're breaking rules they should be punished accordingly. That's all I have to say about that.

According to me GM should have conserved way of talking ,should only get involved only if player needs him ,I have seen in many server GM walk as a spy cam its makes a player uncomfortable and i have also seen GM getting un productive discussions showing attitudes of being a gm In fact for me i like a gm who is always online as npc and give response when  player approaches him should be calm and understand the problem
