Voting Rewards

I'm curious to know what RMS thinks about this system of Voting for a Server regularly for benefits. Does voting for certain items such as God Equiment annoy you? Or thing like unending refined flywing intrest you? I'm all for consumables such as Convex Mirrors, and previously mentioned Refined Flywings (for convinience). And it makes me feel like a non-donater such as myself can help support private servers I enjoy, but what do you all think?

We've got Bloody Branches for voting.
Though no voting system guarantees that the players will vote, I think this chaos of vote for points should stop. People click the link, and woot! they got points.
but then now since everyone's giving out items for voting, its becoming a trend, and players are getting used to it. So if they happen to come across another server without v4p, they'll be all like "WTFX no V4P, I Quit"

I think we, as server players, have come to expect certain things, and I think that as we, server owners, have come to expect ways to promote our server as best we can.

Most servers have a hard enough time just staying online, let alone field donations to help themselves.

And, V4P gives servers a different alternative.

It gives players a chance to get items, by helping promote (usually freely) a server on a top-site, so that many other hopeful players will join their server, (advertising for the owner), items for the player, and maybe a platinum member for the top site (so they end up getting money.)

I think we've all just settled on a sort of accustomed bribery in it's own ways.

As long as what's given in V4P doesn't change the gameplay and is purely aesthetic, I don't think there's a problem.

I've never actually been on a server that does V4P.

The idea amuses me, somewhat, but like everything, I imagine it would need to be balanced. Just because everyone could get a certain item, doesn't mean the game is balanced if they all do.

I'm definitely against the idea of obtaining "God-like" items as a reward for voting...

All that proves is that whoever is voting for the server is voting not to support the server, but to gain something for themselves.

Sure, it racks up votes for the server, but it's taking away from the server and it's image at the same time, imo.

add cute headgears and foods in your V4P im sure the players will love to vote every 12 hours. XD

We have stuff like hats for voting. Theres a LOT more hat collectors out there than you would think lol

Hate it or like it don't matter.

We need it since its the way it works, otherwise we'll be at a disadvantage.

Yea, it's basically a necessary evil at this stage of the game. If you don't do it, everyone else is. Word of mouth can only get you so far....
Still, I'm more in line with aesthetic change only with voting, or perhaps small commodities. Makes the voters feel like it's worth their while and not giving them enough reason about the items being gamebreaking.
