After discussing this with tonightx, we have come to a resolution and agree that neither of us would like for this thread to stain the server's reputation.

There have been a few incidents that have been brought to my attention since then that have strained the issue, but have not broken the contract or otherwise violated server rules. One is where Quake has randomly said the words "NIPPLE TAPE" in PvP. Sammich happened to be there and took it personally, assuming that he was talking about her. He explained that he was talking about a scene in Miss Congeniality with Zeza on Vent, but since his mic was broken, he typed it in-game. After warning him against this, he made sure to keep that discussion in private, so as not to disturb anyone else.

A week later, Rayne spammed the words NIPPLE TAPE in PvP as well, when Sammich also happened to be present. He explained this as a guild joke because of my previous discussion with Quake, where I warned Quake against voicing it out publicly. Rayne claimed to be unaware of the full details about the previous incident between Wally/Symbiote/Sammich and personally apologized to Sammich for offending her.

Sammich has also complained that Backstab guild is somehow privately sharing the link between their friends and has demanded that Tira and I take action against it, but she has not been able to supply any evidence to indicate this. I don't know if she suspects the same of Woopers or Uh Oh guild because of Wally's affiliation with them, but neither has been brought to my attention.

Obviously, this is a complicated situation. We don't support child pornography, nor do we support racism.

We have discussed this repeatedly, but if anybody is going to cite the CHILD PORNOGRAPHY PREVENTION ACT 1996 as support for this issue, then you should really be going to the proper authorities and taking this to a court of law. This personal conflict has blown far too out of proportion for it to be appropriately dealt with by two young adults that arbitrarily decided to set up a computer game for people to play on. Take Wally before a qualified judge and jury to decide upon, or the website that hosted the pictures, or better yet the ex-boyfriend who decided to post the pictures in the first place. Essence is neither the cause nor the solution to this problem, it only happens to have been the channel through which this occurred. You can send Microsoft letters of complaint that people have shared links to child pornography via its chat messenger too - let me know what their response is and I'll be happy to match their decision.

Until then, I see no more need to intervene in this issue unless either the contract or the server rules are broken.

lol.... pretty much that puts you on my list of:
watch the server for not so flattering reasons.....

usually i find a lil bit of drama entertaining (hey i gota watch something now a-days since TV's pretty much junk Dx) but this sounds like....

I don't understand the forum punishment, with a few assumption I made since I am not familiar with the server at all ..

IF this is in fact under the forum rule:

"Any extremely inappropriate or offensive material (i.e. pornography) will be removed and the offending accounts will be permenantly suspended."

Then IF those two guys evidently posted links to the pictures, and IF the pictures under the link are pornography (child p. is still porno).  Then I see the rule is broken but the stated punishment was not served.

However, it will just be a forum ban.  It doesn't hurt anything, one can create as many forum account as the person want.  So I don't see the point of going on with that other than for justice and doing as the policy stated purposes.

As for in-game punishement served, given:

"Depending on the severity and impact of the harassment, the penalty can range anywhere from a warning to a permanent ban at the discretion of the Enforcement GM or Administrator."

It is up to the server's authority to decide on the punishment, third party shouldn't have any impact on that.  Based on experience, it's hard to get a permanent ban handed to a harassment cases.


Still I agree with Reyl, when it involve nude pics of a 14~16 year old girl.  This is a very serious child p. case.  The girl (or her parents) should inform the police and arrest the first boyfriend immediately.  Even now you can still get help from the police, with an IP or email address the FBI will find the guy out and put him to jail.  Having/sharing child p. is already a criminal offense as far as I know.  Those two guys who posted link to them, might also be the person to upload them.  If the girl wanted to, she can get those two guys to jail (if they are in the US).  That should be the real punishment in my opinion, compare to that, any forum ban or in-game ban is nothing.

(notice i use child p. for the obvious? sure because i don't want to attract any fans of child p. to come to this forum.)

lol yc that doesn't apply to JUST to US....
it applies to about all of the western hemisphere

but i totally agree with you.... im also wondering if gravity would take any action on something like this.... cause it is something major =/



but for now i need some sleep.... i'll look over this again after school i guess >.<

I feel bad for Reyl having to deal with this s*** as a server owner. You start a RO server to provide a fun environment for players usually, NOT to solve people's anger issues and drama.

In my humble opinion, the harassment over sex is equally bad as the racism harassment, so the girl shouldn't be playing "holier-than-thou" attitude.

And as for "child pornography", are you really a child at 14? Bad decision on the girl's part to let a hormonal 15 year old take naked pics of her in the first place.

Sounds to me like neither of these person have the maturity level to play, maybe they should all have been kicked from the server.
