I agree with the admin when he says to use those systems.

Although I'd agree more if the policy of RMS wasn't "First come first served". there are tons of nice servers arround and people don't know they even exist, since all the old servers have taken all the slots and they keep them forever.

There are another websites with a ad-like ratemyserver system, and they do release at least 1 slot/month for a new server to advertise and they don't do first come first serve.

judo~

I managed to get a slot on RMS's list all section. Guess that's the best I can do at the moment. Thanks for the suggestions.

Indeed, mass emailing.

i think email advertising pisses ppl off more then anything
when ever i get the emails (and i get tons) i check who else they sent it too XD and usually its an endless list of ppl that received the exact same email

imo if they at least customized their email then that'd make good advertisement, but it'd be very very tedious having to send a customized email to each person

You email me your server, I'm gonna find you, slit my wrists and squirt the blood straight into your eyes.

JJJ's annoyance with e-mails in the aspect of them not being customized is probably one of the key reasons why I'm not fond of all the people who keep copying and pasting responses to the Server Seeking area - not to mention there's a rule against it. If it's copy and paste, it simply says you want more players, not that you want me personally to join your server.

... Yeah, that might seem a little egocentric to say such, as the mass majority of them do just want you to join their server, but... still. xD

I find it a little irritating when people e-mail me. >>; For the love of all that is made out of sex and sanity, I check RMS on a nearly daily basis, if not every few hours due to my general lack of a life. If you really want to contact me about a server, simply PM me here about it. No reason to rape my e-mail.

... Besides. xD The e-mail I use for RMS is the e-mail that I obtain a large quantity of junk mails daily - I once surveyed that I get an average of 78 new e-mails on an hourly basis -, so it'd be hard to spot it even if I did want to deal with the mass e-mail sending bastards. xD

What if there is like " something fun&flash in that email " .

aye, the mailing isn't good for hitting the busy people. it's another form of trash for them. >.> However I still find it effective atm. Taking all forms of advertisement = more chance of players to join.

xD If someone tries to black mail me... Well, the only way they'll get any material for blackmail that I'd care about is two specific things they'd have to be in my home town to be aware of. o_o; ... Even then, it's not so bad that I'd really bend to anyone's demands over. xD I'd just start a counter-blackmail hunt. Such as blackmailing them about how they blackmailed me.

I don't mind if my PM box gets "raped." xD I only get a PM once a week or so, so I think I'd survive. Besides, if they did, then they should be aware that I'm active in a forum that feeds of of drama. xD Giving evidence to people who rape my PM box and throwing it out in the forums for people to feed on would be something they might want to consider before wasting my time. Even if the forum has enough drama without any help. =P

Lol. Recently, someone here in RMS is looking on the member list and mailing the members about valiantRO. Any action regarding this? And yes, I received one of the emails. >.>

Anyway, true regarding the pm box, but there's a lot of business related stuffs in email, maybe that's why A.I. preferred pm better.
