Are there any RO2 Private Servers?
« on: Apr 28, 2018, 12:50 PM »
I've spent the better part of 2 hours searching for RO2 private servers hopeing I could find a fun one to play on. Only to find a bunch of dead links, or links that just lead to random advertisements. Are there any RO2 private servers out there? I'd prefer a low rate one (5x exp or lower) If I could find one. All I've seen so far that looks remotely like an actual server is [Link removed].  But its a really high rate server. Now I'm more asking out of curiosity. Because it looks like there used to be RO2 Private servers, but they seem to be all gone. What happened?

Well, not sure if you are related to that server but I'll remove the link to it because it looks fake to me.  Regardless of it being RO or RO2 server it claims, there are conflicting information where the index page says RO2 while other pages says RO.  The download page is trying to get you to download something else than their client, there is no client download exist and no contact available.  Best I could guess is this is a fake website made up to trick people for their gains.

Too many things that gave it away that it isn't an RO2 server, just look at the feature list some of those doesn't even apply to RO2.  There is no DEX in RO2 for example.

As for RO2, have you tried to play the official server?

Kind of noticed it as a fake after posting the link. Sorry. And yeah I used to play on the official server. But the Economy is so screwed up on it, that it's near impossible to keep playing after a certain point. That's why I was hopeing for a private server, since it wouldn't be as likely that the economy would be as messed up. x.x;

There is not a lot of players in the official server of RO2 due to the lack of content update.  I do not see the point of an RO2 private server when many of the raid content requires 5 to 10 players or more.  As far as I heard, players quit RO2 because of years of nothing new and not because of the economy.  If it has been a while since you left, you should go back and take a look around there then you might understand why there is no demand for RO2 private server.

I admit RO2 has a LOT of problems. And I don't really need to log in, nothings changed since the Jawii Islands update right? I had just thought that a lot of those problems could be solved on a private server. So that perhaps someone did so, or at least tried. x.x; Even if there was very little or no demand for it. You'd think there would be at least one out there.

When RO2 were still popular there were some development on an emulator.  But everything went dead soon after the level expansion update because a large amount of players left the game.  That was 3-4 years ago?  Keep in mind that it takes a lot of time and effort to develop an emulator.  The developers need to love the game they are playing to have an interest in working on a project for it.  So even if someone wants to put one up now, there isn't any up-to-date server software for it.  Don't look for one.

I see your point there. D; I guess RO2 will forever be one of those games that could of been something good, but managed to fail hard instead. x.x; In the end, if I want to play it and have fun. I'm just going to have to suck it up, and spend a couple months DNA farming. Or something like that. @[email protected];;

To be honest, I only really enjoy the game while going through the story, doing all the quests, all the way until you get to the "Master Level" stuff. Its really only the end game stuff that I find as a problem. x.x; But Normally in MMOs I'm only really interested in the end game. xD Ah well. :3
