Amatsu Online - Unprofessional Management.

I haven't played RO in years and then I saw an advertisement on RMS a few days ago for a server called Amatsu Online which I then decided to try out since apparently it was a brand new classic low rate server. I regret doing that now and here's why:

Unprofessional Staff.

How do you post that thread as an authorative figure under the most visited subforum which is Community Discussion, sticky it as the FIRST thread that comes up and then title it as Do's and Don'ts of Ragnarok Online. It blows my mind, really does. The worst part about that is that the person who wrote that is the most active GM/Admin on the server. That person apparently does bug fixing, implementation of new things, etc. Now, instead of writing a whole paragraph I'll just write down the tldr version.


-AmatsuRO had a 1-2 week long open beta.
-The rates were changed 3 to 4 days after the official opening from 3/3/1 to 5/5/3 and this also included a complete card drop modification: https://forum.amatsuonline.com/index.php?/topic/55-card-drop-rate/&page=2#comment-391
-They added a market channel 3 to 4 days after the official opening. Note that almost the whole community asked for a main/trade/recruit channel a week before the server oficially opened which was denied.
-The community asked for a stylist during the open beta which was ofcourse denied. But 5 days after the server opened they magically have a stylist without any anouncement whatsoever.
-Overpowered freebies every 4 days and that on a classic low rate server:

it's a pinoy server, all admins are pinoy, used pinoy ways to get 3.7k fake likes on facebook, while having 100 players on launch day, fell off to 50 just one day after, ingame is full of grammar issues same with admin replies on forum, clearly indicating they're not fluent in english while pretending to be, also caters to their pinoy friends only instead of all players, such as putting freebie npc in pinoy save point etc.

Good thing I know it's a pinoy server now. Pinoy Ragnarok Online is the worst.

Sarah server is as well (pinoy server). But yeah, I tried Amatsu and left after I saw the freebies.

The server is fine, i have played since the launch and part of the beta test and i am really enjoying playing on it. It is impossible to please everyone nowadays, so if you don't like the server... goodbye! Don't let the door hit you on the way out. 

This thread is written by a player who didn't get what they wanted, disagreed with some things in a forum post (that i actually found funny and wish everyone followed) and doesn't like some of the server features. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but there is no need for a post like this on RMS. Reading this post reminded me of a 2 year old crying to mommy.

And for the misinformed, the server is not a "pinoy server" and there is actually a large group of English-speaking players from canada/usa like myself. Yes, there are also players from the Philippines, but you won't find a server anywhere that doesn't have pinoy players. if you all want to prove to the world how racist you all are, please continue to bash a culture because its different from yours or you cannot understand the language. Also, please do not return to this server, AmatsuRO community doesn't need toxic players like in this thread.

Reading the 'Do's and Don'ts' (those words don't look right), reminds me of Square Enix's stance on Final Fantasy XIII.

The server is fine, i have played since the launch and part of the beta test and i am really enjoying playing on it. It is impossible to please everyone nowadays, so if you don't like the server... goodbye! Don't let the door hit you on the way out. 

Yeah because only Pinoys enjoy playing in a Pinoy server.

Those posts are pretty much WTF tier. It's like you trying to teach <12 years old aholes on how to play nice with others.

I wouldn't necessarily call the AmatsuRO staff "unprofessional," because quite honestly the two staff members they have were incredibly nice and conducted themselves becoming of server staff/owners. Despite another player posting an obscenity-laced rant they responded very calmly and did not remove the post.

However I completely agree that this server will never attract the old NA Ragnarok Online community.

I was very excited to play RO again after not touching it for almost 4 years. I had a build laid out and everything. The increased rates were a bit of a bummer when I saw them, but it wasn't a complete deal breaker. What ultimately caused me to quit after less than 24 hours were the freebies mentioned in the OP. Holy hell, I wanted an old school RO experience, and they start handing out these freebies like candy. They advertised the server as "I miss RO 2002," and I don't recall ever seeing those types of goodies given out. I had specifically spent time making an OC/DC merchant so I could afford potions, and believed that I could use that to get ahead by selling potions to people too lazy to go through that effort. Unfortunately, those freebies killed my motivation to play so I logged out and uninstalled when I saw that message go out.

It's really sad to see these mistakes being made so many years later. I had thought people would have learned about all of the follies associated with running a private server, but apparently people still have a whole lot to learn. I was hoping another low rate classic or pre-renewal server would open up since we are in the summer months. It seems like that will likely not happen based on what I've been seeing lately. If any of you folks end up going somewhere, definitely try to post about it somewhere so us old timers can actually find some of these good servers.
