No offense, custom items can be encrypted with Copyrights all over the sprite (especially in a FRAME of the sprite that wont show in-game and only available to be shown when the sprite is previewed). Other encryptions can be done to files via Programs used and if the GRF it self you use is encrypted. If files inside a Server's GRF isn't Encrypted, then really, it's an open ball game for idiots to steal.

Stealing another server's work is obviously frowned upon and when that server is caught stealing from another server, it's globally recognized because Posts are made on certain active forums.

Oh I know it happens.  I'm just saying its awful.  I know a lot of server Admins who run around extracting peoples grf and gaining custom items.  But its just a really awful thing to do.  But I guess you could compare it to people stealing crap from Wal Mart, they're supposed to pay for it, but they dont.  Except sometimes you get caught when stealing from Wal Mart.

making a server isnt illegal, however connecting to one with a hexxed client with client files and all that, is illegal, in order for it not to be illegal one would need to make their own client completely from scratch, and make their own sprites and all that completely from scratch.
