Removing fade-out fade-in effects
« on: Aug 06, 2016, 02:31 AM »
Hello, I've seen this video and I am curious about teleport. When this guy uses teleport (fly wing), the screen does not flash and he is instantly taken to new place. Does someone know how is that possible?

It is a client edit made especially for Dawn of Midgard, called fastrefresh.

There are cheats that will let you do this, but we actually added this to the client as player choice.

Is there a guide for such edit to be usable on different server? (Is it just hex edit?)

It's a hex edit, but I don't think people like to freely give it out

I wouldn't hand it out for the same reason I don't hand out my bots; to progress the world.

There are actually 2 ways doing it. One is client side, one is server side. The client modifications has some advantages over the server side version. Both is not really difficult. But I honestly see no sense it removing it, because it has a reason it is like it is. Removing it can cause several issues regarding weather effects and players vulnerability.

it do not necessarily cause issues to remove it
it depend on how it remove
pin-pointing and ridding of solely the blac effectis posible and do no cause any malfunction to the goddamn client
but ya achieving tis effect thru server-side mod is not recommended as it wuld cause you many client refreshment issue
Client hexing is necesary
