Though, I would agree that many servers claim the map as their own, with their announcements, "New Main Town, ASDFGHJKL" without any credits given to its proper creator. It would be better if servers would at least give regards to the hardwork made by the mappers by stating the map creator's name.

Yes, haha. I've been at atleast 20 servers that used my maps the previous months, and probably plus another 20 that were using other free released maps from the eA boards. Nowhere were credits to be found. But oh well, that's just how it is. No point making a big fuzz. ;p

This is so true.  It bothers the mess outta me.  Sometimes when I make free maps, which I hardly do.  I want so badly to put in black letters on the map / mini map  CHEMICALCRUSH  Just so people can see the name and go HMM.  Since a lot of people who take free maps don't know how to edit them.

True! If the only way to at least know that the map at least is not created by the server and solely belongs to the creator, it would rather be a good idea. I am really wondering what's the hard part on just posting at least credits on the makers. It's the only way to give respect and thanks since custom maps mostly cost a great price.

I agree though. You cannot force them to give credits anyway since most likely, they will just ignore it. Perhaps they believe that because a map is free, no credits should be given anymore and most likely, everybody who downloads it owns it. Well, at least there might be some people who give credits and appreciation to your maps. They are rare, but at least, there are.
