hi this might be the wrong place to post this but iv tryed every where else iv just made a new roserver but when i go to log on i get can't find sprite/shadow.act (im new to all this) first thing is what is this second thing is how do i fix it a step by step would be good then i can fix it myself thanks for your help
Did you install your servers client in the same folder as kRO and Sakray?

the reason is your Data.ini isnt set right
the shadow.act is in sdata

I am having the same problem. I don't understand the suggested solution posted here. I have re-downloaded a million times, and even tried another server, but the same thing, with the following keeps poping up:

or, it will say "RebirthRO" instead of "ForbiddenRO" If I'm trying to open that server.
I'm still waiting on other forums to help, but this shadow sprite thing seems to be the catalist of the problem.
Anyone know how to help?
meh I suggest asking on your respective emulators website for help, and if you're running eAthena look through those forums, I'm pretty sure there's a solution there if you search.. but yhea sounds like you've either installed your clients in the wrong place, or your data.ini is messed up, or your .grf's are messed up.
The first sprite the client looks for to load is the shadow.spr. If the client is unable to find it, then most likely it's not reading the GRF's you've downloaded.
A lot of new clients are hexed to read off of data.ini to determine which GRF files to read. If you dont have "data.ini" or a file called "data with two cogs in the picture", then it will most likely not work if your client has that setting.
Make a new txt file and put this inside:
[Data]
0=sdata.grf
1=data.grf
In the save as box, type in "data.ini" (with quotes) and put it into your RO folder.
do youhave the latest KRO AND SAKRAY and put it where your RO is
sprite/shadow.act is a common error to people who don't have their sdata and data in their right place and a older version of sakray and KRO
sprite/shadow act always happen to me when i don't have Sak and KRO

well this is very common and alot of people are complaining about it i know cuz it happens when you don't have sak or kro or a latest sak and kro
I'm having the same problem but only for TXT server I'm trying =P i only have latest sakray and raglite do i need kro for this to work because I've search my RO folder and can't find the data.grf i only have sdata.grf.
