Issue with Rar Parts...

Yes.. I have this issue. u see im about 2 join other server. and the last curretn kro and sak clients i have are of i think this last December..

so i downloaded the lastest kro and Sak. but i downloaded them in parts, now u see here is my dilemma the last time i downloaded the clients they were in parts.. but i was able to put them together.. now here it is I FORGOT HOW TO PUT THEM TOGETHER xD!! help me please? i cant remember and this is pissing me off!

extract the part 1 ito a folder, then extract part two into the same folder, when probed to overwrite, select yes. same goes for part 3 and so fourth if there are any.

O.O so okay let me get this straight.

i extract part1 and it created a sak setup. then i extract part 2 that wants to extract another sak setup and wants to overwrite the other. I let it? wont that get rid of the rest of the file? but ill try it out anyway.. not like i have anything better to do :/

The last time i tried, it did not replace the whole .exe , instead it actually merged.

no no .. you put them all into the same folder, then just have to extract part 1 and it will automatically find the other parts in the same folder (given u didn't rename them after you downloaded).  That should give u the exe already.

oh, wait, sorry. i wasn't elaborate enough. If you're actually downloading the zip folder of the SAK files, then yC has the right instructions. for me, i too created a new folder, but i had 2 parts INSTALLER instead of SAK files. in short, what i am extracting is a .exe installer. And it could be merged by overwriting. sorry about the confusion.

okay here is an example:

SAK_SETUP0616.part1
&
SAK_SETUP0616.part2

will they extract correctly?

BWS, why don't you try extracting SAK_SETUP0616.part1 and see if you end up getting the exe in the folder.

Well, it should if the client completes with part1 and part2 only.  I thought they are at least in 3 or 4 parts.

i  did that earlyer.

i extracted the part1 rar then it gave me the .exe setup

so then i attempted extract the part2 rar but it wanted to replace the part1 .exe

~.~ so yeah im confused i remember it use to prompt me to i guess put them together... now idunno... so yeah....



Oh and i tried that thing that "TheWingless" said

and the setups worked............. so yeah... =/

It's just like yc said, you need to have all parts in the same folder. If you managed to extract the exe from the part 1 you're done, the extraction program looked in the part2 by itself and got what it needed. Just launch your extracted exe now.

You don't have to extract the second part, you only extract once.

well instead what i did. is highlight both parts and had them extract both together ^^ that solved it. but again thx for ur help guys its very much appreciated
