Gravity Handler Error. (Now with Picture and Folder Contents)

I had this same problem a year ago when I went to play again, and I eventually fixed the problem, but I dont remember how I did it :/

When I go to run sakray.exe (or any of the private server .exe's ive tried) I get:

I've downloaded and installed the newest version of both kRO and Sakray, I then patched them without problems (and ran multipule times to make sure), and I then I even tried to updat nProtect after a few tries, and it all went smoothly.

However when I go to open sakray.exe, it gives me the above error, and I have to close the game. I havent even seen the start screen. Ive also uninstalled and did the whole thing over again to see if that was the issue, but no. Ive also tried to redownload the files.

Sorry, I meant to add also that ive tried to run numerous private servers with an un/reinstall inbtwn each one, and after patching their patches, I still get the same error (but replace sakray.exe errors with their specific .exe).

My exact method is:
Install RAG_SETUP0911.exe,
Install SAK_SETUP0911.exe,
Patch Ragnarok,
Patch Sakray,
Install and patch various private servers (just one though, ive never tried install two at once) (Im trying to play on SunriseRO, but ive been trying others to see if anything works)
Run PrivateServer.exe
Get error.

Sometimes after patching sakray, I try and play it, just to see if I can get to the start screen (I should be able to, yeah?), but I just get this error.

Am I missing files?

That's pretty odd...

Are you certain you're not installing all of these servers to one folder? GRF and DATA.INI conflicts will definitely start those Gravity Errors.

I never install more than one server at once, and do a complete un/reinstall btwn each one, so yeah, no conflicts btwn them.
Im really stumped though, because technicly after installed and patching just sakray and ragnarok (not installing a private server), should I atleast be able to get to the sakray start splash screen? That leads me to believe that im missing some files I think.. I will post a screen shot in a bit when I try to install again.

Again, ignore the odd characters, just that the DOS TREE command formats it that way. And again, I tried it while my comp was in English, and it didnt matter.

I just think im missing a file somewhere :/ Seems that the AI and Data folders seem small, and maybe missing something in the RO folder.

Do any other errors pop up before the gravity handler? Things such as missing .spr files, rixsquirrel, etc.? If so, it will give us a very big hint on what the problem is.

Otherwise, here are a few possibilities to look into:
- Your client reads the data folder first, in which case whatever is in your data folder takes precedence over the GRF files. Most large servers will not (or at least should not) use data folders, and their clients should be properly hexed to ignore it.
- Your DATA.INI is pointing to the wrong files. Your DATA.INI, assuming the server you use only has 1 GRF, should look something like this:

- You are having file permission problems (more commonly a Vista issue), so your RO client can't access some of the files it needs. You can try copy/pasting or re-installing to a new folder in a different location (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't).

No, no other errors, always the same one.

Theoretically, without installing any private servers, and just doing an install of Rag and kRO, shouldnt kRO atleast start up though? I recall that I was able to do that a year ago when I last played. Also something of note, when running sakexe.exe and ragexe.exe they don't open either.

Now the private server I would like to run is SunriseRO, and the data.ini is:

Their patch includes hairdata and sunrise, and also a bunch of data folder stuff, to drop into the RO data folder, including textures and sprites.

I messed around with the .ini a bit, but nothing changed.

I dont know why this is being so difficult.

They use grfs and data folder? that's rather odd. I hate data folder personally, when someone has an error I suggest to remove it, but if they make you put some of their files in there then it becomes harder, still, try to delete everything in the data folder than is not from the server you play.

I did get it working finally.
I unpacked the kro and sakray .exe's manually (this time with my mcafee turned off..) and it worked. Didnt bother testing which was the culprit, but im guessing mcafee was blocking something during installation.

Never had any probs with installing any other programs.. it's always the simple things that cause the most problems.
