Backdoor.Ragnarok

I did a virus scan on the Gravity Folder, and found the launcher for RMS server (2008-01-02a.exe) a virus, along with Ragexe and Sakexe. Any idea what could have caused RO to bu suddenly listed as a virus program? I'm using AVG7.5 by the way.

Must have been that fake speed hack you downloaded...

Speedhack? What is that?

Anyway, it was all fine yesterday. I clicked to start the RMS server today and got a virus warning, next thing they moved all RAGEXE and ROEXE files to the vault.

I'm beginning to suspect AVG 7.5 messed up again.

By the way, its all Ragnarok related, I didn't pick up any weird programs other than that. No programs were installed/downloaded since last year, and I just updated the virus scanner.

Anyway I confirmed it with a friend who use AVG. AVG is definitely behind all these.

EDIT: Official Announcement from iRO GM and AVG themselves. Read the following link:

If your using AVG Anti-Virus, just turn off the resident shield and you can play again. But be warned: your PC may be infected with all types of REAL viruses.

Edit: I fixed mine when I'ved download the latest patch manually. That's all.

Well, if it didn't stop me from playing, I wouldn't have been here haha. Guess they can "fish" up things real bad.

May I know how do you prevent it from auto-launch after Windows started?

By the way, for others with such a problem, after reinstalling WITHOUT AVG (for testing purposes), I still get the message "Game executable failed to launch -ro.exe"
