Recruiting staff for a new server

Objective: To re-create the RO-feel before the renewal system and the 3rd Class generation.

Details: I'm looking at a server that's probably going to be based around low rates with scarce amounts of custom NPCs as it allows users to interact more.  More specifically a server that promotes parties and will hopefully ignite a friendly fun community.  This is not 100% as this is more of a gamble and speculation at first glance to see if current players are willing/have thought/wanting a server like this.

Applications: Serious, formal, and professional applications/résumé only. Do understand that there will be others competing for the position you may be applying for.  The positions available is EVERYTHING that is related in constructing a brand new server. Include the following:
- General basis and structure of a résumé
- State what you can do
- State what you can offer
- What position you are applying for
- Why you wish to pursue my ideals
- Your expectations
- Any other information you wish to add

Expectations: A low-rate server that feels like the days before the renewal system.  It'll also be a limited population so that interaction between players will remain intact, and so that the community remains stable and remembered easily.

As stated, this isn't going to be a 100% sure-created server as it currently stands.  I have no general basis of what the total current population of players in RO is, nor do I have a clear understanding of what the current state of demands are.  Because of so, changes are expected.

This is going to be a progressive work to re-create one of the--and hopefully--greatest point of time of Ragnarok Online.  It'll be maintained consistently and monitored heavily with a full dedicated staff.  ENGLISH-BASED SERVER.

We are currently going to set up a forum for us to discuss our actions and individual responsibilities without the interference of time zones.  In the meantime, adding each other through MSN will suffice and a personal message with the forum link will be sent in due time.

Hello Poki,

At first, I'm really excited for your RO server and hope that it will become available in near future, because I'm looking for a good low rate RO server again since over half a year now.

All I want is to give you a few suggestions because I really hope that your server is the lowrate server for that I waited. 
For clarity, I made several categories here:
- VERY important
- Important
- Not that important

-Important Could you implent accound based zeny? So that all zeny is shared between characters on the same account?

-VERY important: Put a share range of at least 15, maybe 20lvls in. It's hard to find many players for big partys on nearly every server nowadays.

-Important: No Monster/Map/Dungeon of the week. This will help players to get very high rates if they also use bubble gums with it, we won't have a lowrate server then anymore. (I've seen it on another server were players were able to reach lv 99 in 1-2 days, even if the rates were changing between 5x-9x).

-Not that important: Automated event with rewards. I like them, they're a good distraction after grinding. But, please add just really really "ok" rewards to it if you do. Not that the economy dies because of automated events (I also have seen this before because the rewards on that server were like donation rewards and everyone has sold them).

-VERY important: Main Chat, for sure. Especially on a server in 2011. But, probably the new way: Not via typing @main "text". Some servers have implented it like this: You have to write "#main" in the PM box where you whisper to people, but instead of whispering to someone else, you're whispering to the main chat. Also, there could be a "#trade" chat. Both in different colors would be fine.

-VERY important: No banker. I've seen many servers where bankers got exploited.

-VERY important: Battlegrounds with at least 5vs5. Even if this server would get 200-400 players, it's not that easy to find players in BG all the time because of the variety of time zones. So, 5vs5 would be fine. 3vs3 also, but I'd just implent that one if the population isn't that high in the end. And new BG rewards, but nothing like items for edp's or acid bottles and sp items. Just, mh, "easy" things. I don't know which would be fine, but probably you know.

-Not that important: The possibility to buy items with merchants in @autotrade, not just to sell items with it (I also have seen this before).

-Important?: No Buffer. And a healer with a fee which is high enough that not everyone wants to use it for PvP all the time (Asura spammer D:) - Priests would be even more useful, like it's meant to be, then. Or even no healer, I'd like that. Really.

-VERY important: Teleporter. People are lazy nowadays, if they see servers without a teleporter they log off. Add a teleporter which is able to warp you to every town, but not to dungeons.

-Important: Voting rewards, they will ensure that people vote. Also, no overpowered rewards. Also donations rewards which will help the server to exist.

-Not that important: A NPC which is able to create most headgears from kRO if you bring the needed items to him. I really hate the fact that RO has SO MANY headgears and you can't even get the most because they're event headgears. But, no overpowered headgears here, too. Probably you should just add a few which aren't influencing the balance.

-VERY important: Reset NPC. Please add one. It's really too much trouble for everyone to delete a character because of a miss click or because I've to rebuild it because of new equips.
I'd do following: No skill reset. For stats: let players be allowed to reset stats 3 times for each character without a fee. This way, players will just reset their stats if it's really needed.

Probably many of my suggestions are something you know already, but I hope they're helping you in some way.

- Party level share range will be increased.

- There will be no monster/map/dungeon of the week.

- Automated events: This will take some time.  We won't bring this out in the opening of the server as players wish to get use to the server first.

- Main chat can be definitely made to be more convenient.  The server is also English-based.  Any foreign language used in @main is not supported by us.

- We'd like to have a banker.  We can make it so that the Banker NPC is not exploitable.

- Battlegrounds... I personally have no idea about this so this is more up to my staff to cover on.  If anything, BG would be edited heavily and checked so that the benefits are acceptable and the economy would not be affected heavily.

- I don't know what you mean about the merchants buying things in @autotrade.

- No buffer will be provided.  There will be a decent fee to help control zeny within the server, but the fee will be free for lower levels.

- Warper NPC will be there.  I'm are also considering about having the server pay with zeny to unlock the dungeons they want... or else they have to travel to there manually, similar to accessing Rachel Sanctuary.  Not too entirely sure though.  It could also be 'personal' where you pay to unlock your dungeons.

- Donations reward will exist but strictly non-pvp/woe beneficial.  We also will not encourage donating, but accept it if you simply just wish to thank us for the server or want to help us.

- We will incorporate some sort of fun voting system promotion.

- We might have a custom headgear NPC or custom quests for the headgears... Or we can incorporate some token service or even an auction NPC.  We want to make zeny very useful within the server.

- There will be a reset NPC

*Everything is subject to change.  We are constantly discussing and trying our best to be innovative while being realistic.  Thanks for your input.

Not sure what you mean by this, but I hope you're not considering leaving BG out altogether or removing the official rewards. That would pretty much be suicide

No idea, I should probably look at BG myself but I've got my hands tied on something else.  I'm sure this girl named Chemical has it covered.
Anyways...

Still looking for a graphics designer to take on several tasks that I have in mind.  Something similar to loading screens/ads, but not exactly.
