Dord-san

Preferred Name: Dord-san or simply Dord
Age: At least over 20+
Gender: Male
Location: Australia
Timezone: GMT +10 (+11 during daylight savings)

Availability:
Generally available all the the year and season. As well depends on workload from studying. Since I am studying in university, I should have more free time compared to a person committed to a full-time job. I can generally commit at least 16 hours per week if required.

What should you expect of me:
I am a serious and passionate. I wholeheartedly dedicate myself in fulfilling responsibilities that are entrusted to me. I am motivated in a professional and organized work environment. Communication and discipline is highlighted strongly in my work etiquette. I target goals in a progressive manner by constantly creating milestones to be achieved. I like to conduct myself in a professional manner, but will loosen up once the environment is comfortable enough to do so.

Other than my diligent work ethic, I believe I am capable of being creative and think out-of-the-box. I also commit myself as a Dungeon Master (DM) for a tabletop RPG such as Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder. It is a requirement for DMs to be creative, trustworthy and charismatic. My planning ability along with the level of detail I provide is remarkably outstanding among my peers. If your server has a need in writing up scenarios, I believe I am more than capable of completing such feat.

Should I be tasked in demonstrating leadership, I have graduated from Dale Carnegie training with a GA certificate. In short, I have a piece of paper that certifies that I am trained in corporate training, management training and leadership training. It is generally natural for me to take initiative in group discussions. I am also a fast learner, as long as it does not involve math. I am also generally easy to contact, and my response delivery rivals the Greek God Hermes (aka faster than your local post office).

Language(s):
I primarily speak English as my first language. I am able to comprehend Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified) as well I have a completed my Japanese Language Minor degree if that helps by any chance.

Area of Expertise:
Player Support - Like many of you, I was an avid player of Ragnarok Online. My experiences in Ragnarok Online suffice in tasks such as general player support, able to cater players on topics related to in-game content.

Rule Enforcement - No one likes cheaters and rule breakers. I believe it is necessary to apply appropriate measures to players as a disciplinary action. When carrying out disciplinary actions, it is important to upkeep professionalism in terms of communication and upholding the Code of Conduct.

Events - I believe events are vital in maintaining activity in a server. I believe the current event trends in RO is too repetitive and dry. As much as I am fine hosting mini-games in-game, I am more interested in elaborate game events that are seasonal and limited. With my ability in planning and noting details, I am able to come up with ideas for such elaborate events. I like to utilise different platforms for events such as in-game, forums or even on Facebook. The primary aim of events is to retain members' interest and attract new players by utilising these events as a marketing tool. I am proficient with Photoshop, so I can create banners for events if required to do so.

General Administration and Management - I consider these my expertise as this is what I am currently studying in university. I am able to engage in discussions on business strategy, identifying possible origins of the issue and giving recommendations of actions to be taken via consultation. I take emphasis on group communication and increasing group knowledge and awareness. I address critical issues in a straight forward manner, and giving honest interpretations and recommendations.

Experiences:
Update: I have various experiences in start up servers. Because of my countless experiences being involved in failed start ups, I am putting up a server requirement that I will only accept GM roles from established servers. Unfortunately I am unable to list what servers I have been involved in, partially because they all failed and ceased to exist, hence I cannot make a valid record of my previous experiences. In short, I am tired for working servers conducted by hobbyist or people who think making a server is fun. As this is mostly volunteer work from my behalf and I usually do not inquire for any reward incentive, the presentation of the server such as the community and staff conduct must be fully well present.

A Brief Introduction:
I am an undergraduate student, currently studying a double degree. I've travelled a lot ever since I was young, approximately 40 countries and lived in around 8 different countries. I have spent most of my life studying in relatively prestigious international schools, which allowed me to be exposed in an international community and gain cultural experience. I am an avid connoisseur of Asian popular media, specifically Japanese anime, manga and light novels. I play the electric guitar in my leisure time, mostly on game music. RO genuinely created nostalgic memories and experiences in highlighting online friendship and teamwork with various kinds of people.

Server Requirements:
I am generally looking for a server that has:

  • Been established and cultivated for some time.
  • Only used English as the main language and demonstrated adequate English ability in both staff and player base.
  • A strong competent leader.
  • A well represented active forum.
  • A professional staff team that is short on hands.
  • A role that is pro-active, not limited to answering QnA and general player support.
  • An opportunity to allow me partake the development of the server.

In short, if you are an upstart server looking for people to fill in ranks, I am not up in investing effort and time to cultivate such server. I commit myself vigorously to the role as a GM without any pay incentive, therefore I expect the people that I will be working with are also as committed.

Contact Methods:
I prefer to receive PMs requesting for e-mail or simply contact me on Facebook. Replying to this topic is also fine as long as there's a method of contacting you is available. In contrary to my earlier statement on replying faster than the Greek God Hermes, I don't reply as fast on RMS Forum compared to Facebook. I do receive an e-mail notification when I get a personal message so expect me to reply within a day.
If my inbox is full since I don't really actively post on RMS and unable to expand my inbox storage, please reply to this topic. I apologize in advance.

Dord, are you still available or active? I know a server that is looking for Game Masters to help them out. They are fresh and quite active in making updates and have a good community.

Let me know if you are interested.

Dord-san

I updated my resume for those who are interested in needing a GM. I have added a requirement to servers as I am not interested in assisting upstart servers, and prefer to be in an established server. Being a GM is not exactly my hobby, but I am keen in offering my service should I feel convinced that my service and efforts is appreciated and well invested upon. I do not seek monetary incentive.
