EasyhanRO - Website theft

Paid $300 for website design+coding by lykos, ETA is 7-10 days. Website finished just around 5AM EST today, got PMs 2-3 hours later from a trusted friend that someone was offering him MY very website fully coded... and I was like wtf, that's bull, just ignore him. 5 hours later, someone uploads the website and it's even fully recolored and they changed the logos and stuff... >_>

Not sure, how they did it, how they got it but they did, they got the psd, and the coded files way before me via some method... I haven't even gotten the coded files myself when I was the one who paid for them, ffs.

Are you seriously? You paid 300$ for your own website, they paid for theirs. You can check many of private servers with same design layout. Just creator of design sells such layout websites.

Are your eyes for holes or something? You're talking about a premade website, and even then, premade website sellers usually don't give a s*** other than changing the logo so no. And this is an exclusive website, not a freaking premade one. It was designed and coded from scratch and they somehow stole the files.

I think you should get a hold of the designer/seller that make you the website. If the changes was done at such short amount of time, the source of the problem might not be from you. The seller exclusively coded and designed your website, but he/she can still use your site as a template. Changing a few things here and there then sell to someone else is possible. You have to look back at the terms when you paid for your website, ask why there exist another similar website.

Another case is the site is a template itself, all the designer have to do is create the images/logos/backgrounds to your likely and sell it to you as exclusive. The css and code only need minimal customization.

Hello, I am the one who manage the s1 Lykos designs. And we just want to let everyone know here that we don't resell exclusive website designs. We're also surprised about what happened and we'll continue investigating about this issue. For now, all we can do is to report their website to DMCA to take their website down or remove the images they ripped.

About DMCA; this is really effective, this is what I did when someone ripped the PlayRPS website.

I did, last night. And he's as surprised as me. And yes, I know that they sell similar websites, but to use the exact SAME thing and just recolor/change the logo, afaik they won't do that. This is just extremely weird on how they got hold of the coded website way before me, and the psd which nobody should have except me. I haven't shared it to anyone, not even my co-owner.

Since the designer claims that they didn't resell the design or the web template and both were made exclusively for your server, your only option is to contact the other server directly and find out how they managed to get their hands on it. It's possible they got cheated by some other designer/coder. Furthermore, if you don't want to make a huge scene in their server then you can just ask him to explain this in this thread via a private message.

The designer thinks that they have a program that watches their website and downloads the files as they're uploading it or something like that. Since there was no leak, and apparently they're confident that nobody got into their webhosting since the other designs would get ripped off too. But so far, it's only 3 people. PlayRPS, TrueRO and my website.
