Getting tired of posting these (I'm sure you are, too!) but hey. I can't stand servers advertising on other server pages. XenonRO is the next~

That's why RMS don't have a facebook.  It'll be an ad fest -.-

I don't know why each server must have a facebook when each server should have a forum for news and stuff.  Nor do I think players will check a server's facebook more often than the server's forum.  That's just my guesstimate and believe.  What do you plan on achieving with a server facebook account?  I think it's a good idea to open RO to more people that never played the game, if it even work that way.  It isn't needed to communicate with existing players imo.

Isn't the choice is in your hand to allow comment or not?  It's your choice (to let this happen or moderate it).  It's the same in every business.  Real world business facebook page get spammed by advertisers of all kinds of things too.  It's just normal, ants are everywhere.

I am not saying they are right, but it's too easy to do and even getting one lead from it they'll happily do it.

Well, for whatever the reason is, people tend to use Facebook more often than a forum. For some people I suppose it's easier to use an existing Facebook account than making a new account for a forum and waiting for a reply there.

And I agree! The main goal of having a Facebook page is to open it up for more potential players. By communicating with your own players through it, their own friends will read about it, too. That's the whole point of social networking pretty much.

It is indeed my choice what to do with it. Though we prefer an open medium instead of having to approve every single reply. Sure, this will attract bad apples like the one above, but that is not any different from that same person advertising on a server's forum or logging ingame and spamming @main chat with the same stuff. All in all it's just bad manner to go on another server's communication channels and spam your own crappy server advertising there.

That posted one up onto Lumina's facebook too. Didnt get chance to get a screenie of it though, a colleague removed it before me.
