Thank god for servers being destroyed. Someone needs to take out the trash.

People destroy servers to troll, remove trash, and hopefully kill this dying game.

Outside of the fact I don't approve of changes they've made to the game / features, TalonRO is the only server I'd say is worth playing. Other than that, you might as well play iRO.

Gimme please your access log from IPB & website + other logs in auth.log
+ errors log. I can alalyze that in my free time.
I will tell you a true story about your hack.

Emulator DO NOT have any 3rd party connections, i was check it manually times.
Are you really thinking about around 10k community in server development (rathena & hercules & old eathena) can ignore so big trouble in sources?

In 99% of all hacks the problem is: administrator who do not care about their server security.

There is very simple steps to protect servers: disable dangerous functions in php, open-basedir, disable extra connections to mysql server, remove php in uploading folders. Do not run any application from root, ACL settings for folderes, etc.
Disable all ports except RO server, normal login system what e-mail you every day & event trigger on the system.

+ very stupid method against cheaters
OnPCLoginEvent:
if (getgmlevel()) {
atcommand "@block "+strcharinfo(0);
announce "SOMEONE LOGIN INTO GM ACCOUNT!!! CONTACT TO GM AS FAST AS THAT POSSIBLE!",bc_all,0xFF0000;
atcommand "@mapexit";
}
end;

Um... that would mean you don't want any GM level accounts to login to your server. That's not even a good script. Furthermore, why the hell would you @mapexit for that? Rofl. That'll totally stop the hackers of the RO community!

Its simple, most servers with high populations or that last a long time are usually run by hackers, they know how to hack, so they know how to protect their server from hackers too.  So when a newer/better server pops up and starts taking players from another, the server owner of the "dying" server will go hack the newer/better server to try and get their players back instead of giving a s*** about why people were leaving in the first place.  They are afraid of competition they can't beat, so they attack it in the most pathetic way possible, but this is not true of all server owners who are hackers, some actually like this game and are smart enough to use their competition to get ideas to make their own server better when people start getting bored and wanting to leave.

Well Chilly, in a way people that runs successful servers need to be knowledgeable.  Doesn't have to be a hacker or go out to destroy other servers, by being cautious on server security and have backup plans make their server last longer and earn players trust.  If some inexperienced owner just want to put up a server as soon as possible for the sake of being owner/gm having power, their failure is nobody's fault.

As for DDOS, that happens everywhere and it's unavoidable =/
