Report of a guild of players.

So I had this guild on my server named Syndicate.

They caused a number of problems, including harassing our players and GMs, exploiting several bugs, then trying to trash my server in reviews after I fixed those bugs.

After I banned 2 of their members, they recently just hacked my server.

I just restored everything, but I thought I would let other players and server owners know, because according to some of my members, they also talked about how they caused SicaRO to go down by SQL injection.

The guild is from Australia, last I heard they were on Woon-RO.  So if the admin of that server reads this, be careful of them.

If it's the same Syndicate that I know, it's a well known guild for doing that, lots of servers already got f*** by them and also, if you're getting hacked by a sql injection something is wrong, there are ways to prevent that.

It probably is.

Their IPs are all from Australia, some of their char names are Xiao, Soulfire, Clutch, Treble, Med, etc etc.  I heard they were also banned from Opal RO, but I'm not sure as to why.

And looking into it further, it wasn't an SQL injection.  I have tested my server many times to see if SQL injection would work, so far we've been safe.

One of the players in Syndicate kept trying to get people to go on his test server, I'm guessing he got their PW that way.

Syndicate is a known hacker guild, but they're not usually nearly that malicious. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away I used to roll with them, and when stuff got patched, we'd just look for new ones. We'd hit servers that ticked us off, but for the most part we were around to keep the admins and GMs on their toes securitywise, and have fun doing it.

Then there was the "guild entirely made up of bots" fiasco. God did I have fun with that one.

Oh.. There's a guild by that name on iHeartRO. I wonder if they're the same people.

IIRC there was also a guild named Syndicate in PumpkinRO before. Same thing, it got hacked. I never saw Woon got hacked though since I'm playing there for a month now.
