97%? Where'd you get that statistical s***? I don't doubt that there's a lot of bad people, but 97%? I'm certain that only exists in your mind. Regardless, like he said, it's a crappy reason to not do your part for the better and rid us of one more asshat that is plaguing the internet like they are plaguing our planet.

Usagimimi

Not really. When people turn bad, it's extremely difficult to change them. They think being bad is normal, and being good is abnormal. It's crazy. Covering yourself and being modest is supposed to be normal, but bad people have made it abnormal. Dressing in barely anything and exposing sexual parts is now the norm' (of which, I don't agree with. Humans didn't cover themselves before because of being forced; they did it because they had respect for themselves, their families, and the people around them.)

S'why in the Holy Book Noah builds an arc and God flooded the world - humans turned irreversibly evil. They chose to be that way. God saved the purest of them and rebuilt humanity off of that. I'm 1/2 expecting the world to flood / destroy itself in some way. The history within the Holy Book has repeated itself lol

You can try changing people; good luck, though. You're the abnormal one after all because you're good and pure. You think they'll listen to you over the television / music that's telling them otherwise? Over their friends and family telling them otherwise? Nan.

As for 97%, it's not a census obviously. That's my opinion. There aren't many good people. 97% of everyone I've met in personal experience, seen / heard about, etc. have been bad.

Meh.

I'm kindly requesting anyone who has nothing further to contribute to my topic to leave the topic. I'm not saying this in an aggressive matter, i don't see how you're helping my petition by bashing it. =[ Leave if you do not agree, I will not argue with you. Everyone is forgetting the real issue. Zeel! he's an evil human monster who deserves everything that's coming. my petition might remove him permanently! whether this is a realistic possibility is up for debate. The fact there is a possibility means I must to try!

OKay, is the police, fbi or the respective authority in your local area informed of this case?  Reading news and stuff tells me the FBI / Police do care about internet bullying.

Pseudox

I do not have any tangible evidence of his bullying, except these topics, that's why i thought a petition would garnish the attention and the evidence I need. We've called the police though, they haven't done squat instead of sitting on their asses pretending they care. It is 'under investigation' whatever that means! I want him gone now!

Usagimimi

Demand an IP from the server owner? Did you screenie anything Zeel said / did your sister?

That's a good start.

Cops go by RMS' motto by the way:

"Proof or it didn't happen."

Only, in this case, something did happen, but if you can't prove that it was this Zeel guy who caused it, then it's as if your sister just did it for the kicks without reason. Kinda a sick way for the cops to look at it, but they're pretty much one-sided with evidence.

Descent

The Internet is an ugly place, OP. You either deal with it, or you don't use it. Nobody's forcing your sister to interact with these idiots, and newsflash, they're *everywhere*.
To right the countless wrongs of our day, we shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise. What a wonderful world such would be...

Pseudox

I do have his IP and there are several reports flying around about his activities under different names. However none deal directly with me or my sister. Is there anything else I can do?

Usagimimi

No screenies? No proof that that character in the screenies is him?

No case. The police won't do anything since there's no chatlogs or sound proof.

Sorry.

Pseudox

That's what the petition is for Yusifer. In hopes that internet service providers have some sort of compassion.

I'm going to be brutally honest with you here:

Internet petitions mean squat. Carbon (One that you sign in 'real life') ones mean next to nothing unless it is to get a recent bill overturned. Placing your trust with anything on the internet is the most ridiculous thing you could possibly do, really.

  • If your sister is 'Unipolar', then she is always going to be depressed. If her medication isn't working enough for her to want to 'slit her wrists', you should consult her psychiatrist about getting her medication changed.
  • In respects to the above point, Unipolar is a debilitating illness. I highly doubt she would have engaged in conversation with her 'friends' (These are your words, not mine) when you said only two lines earlier that she cannot make said friends.
  • ISP's don't care. At the end of the day, they are just another company trying to make their buck. They wont do squat if it means losing a client unless he violates their TOS (I suggest your read this before you contact them)

Anyway. Contact these guys if your police reports aren't getting anywhere.

Unfortunately it's come to this point.

Yesterday, around the afternoon my little sister, Dana, tried to take her own life.
She has a mental illness, unipolar disorder, basically she suffers from low-self esteem and is sometimes depressed.  May 15th, I had let her on my RO character, Pseudo, against my better judgment. Many of my friends know the situation, a player by the name Zeel(with varying degree's of x's) has been trolling Prontera lately, harassing members (especially females and homosexuals). I had a confrontation with him before and I'm aware of how hurtful he can get, so I was worried that  he might assault my sister because of our confrontation.

Despite all this, I let her go online to play.

You are trying to get someone "banned" from the internet? how does one do that? if you really do care for your sister you would have immidiatly filed a complaint with the police regarding this matter. Instead you went online to get people to sign a petition to ban? someone from the internet.  :-\

Cheers.

cause after all the drama, I still slain em.

Compassion... but a petition online can't remove the legal real-world rights of someone. You need proof. It's not the same as doing a petition to change a law the government's made.

For example, I had tennis balls chucked at my head by my entire class when I was nine. No one saw, but I want my vengeance now. I then group 10,000 people together who never saw the crime itself and convince them that these people are bad and should be under house arrest permanently / have their freedom of mobility removed. Even with 10,000 people agreeing with me, I don't have proof, so the law cannot legally remove these people's rights just because we don't lik'em.

That's a popuarity contest. That's like removing a really, really good GM for having banned a troll in the biggest guild on a server. They say the GM misjudged and that 45vs1 = the guild is right, so the GM is fired because 45 people say that the GM is bad - that the GM misjudged or w/e. The banned member is then unbanned because majority rules lol ridiculous :s

It's just hear-say. You can't even use that in court. You need firm evidence of some sort.

Kissa

Not to sound like a b**** but you are not going to get anywhere with this. ISP won't do anything because at the end of the day Zeel was bugging you guys in one specific place. He hasn't hacked you guys, created websites with the sole purpose of bashing you guys, and so on and so forth. He said some jack donkey things on a free to play internet game that you chose to play. Besides, dealing with his ISP isn't even a very fruitful venture. I'm going to assume he doesn't live in the middle of nowhere where there is only one ISP available to him. Sure you can try contacting the police/fbi etc, but at the end of the day all you can really do is keep an eye on your sister, ignore Zeel, or find a new game/server to entertain your time with.

ilphithra

Ok, I'll be assuming this is real (sorry for my skepticism but that's how it goes  :-\)
As for Zeel... Zeel is probably the worst <insert various bad names here> that I've ever seen and he can be quite hard to deal with, especially if you give him attention.

As for your sister...

What in hell got to you people's minds to stop giving her medication?! Unipolar doesn't just disappear, it's something you have for life and that can only be controlled with meds and therapy.

In my case, I have bipolar and if it weren't for the pills I take every night, I would be a nasty maelstrom going about with no control over my moods/emotions and would be stuck in a universe of depression (bipolars do tend to spend more time depressed).

In your sister's case it's even worse... it's unipolar which means she's permanently depressed (in major ways).
If she had been on her medication she probably would have dealt better with this guy. She would be affected, yes... but maybe not to the point of trying to kill herself.

Never, ever take away the meds of a unipolar/bipolar person. They may cope with the symptoms for a bit but they'll crack down on the first obstacle (as you witnessed).

If anything, I place the blame on you (and your family) for not giving her the necessary medication and leaving her all alone in a place where trolls and idiots are abundant and without warning her that such people may come to her and try to make her life miserable and as such, she should just ignore and go away or log off for a while.

Unipolar people don't have to (and shouldn't) be kept in little fuzzy pink bubbles but they need better support to cope with things that most of us would just brush away.
How to deal with an INTJ (excerpt):
- Don't expect them to respect you or your viewpoints just because you say so. INTJ respect must be earned.
- Do not be surprised at sarcasm.
- Do not expect INTJs to actually care about how you view them. They already know that they are arrogant bastards with a morbid sense of humor.
