Title: AevaRO
Post by: Vanquicity on Apr 16, 2015, 01:21 PM
I have been playing AevaRO since its opening date on like the 25th and I am really disappointed so far. It started off really fun and promising because you can play on the browser and on android devices, but there have honestly been so many glitches and bugs that it isn't worth the trouble to use anything but the client. They honestly seem like they weren't prepared to open the server and just went for it because they were tired of waiting. I'm an '02 ro vet and have played like 15+ servers because I like to move around and stuff.

I had really good experiences with like early TalonRO and of course PlayRO (don't we all miss playro?), and I just haven't found a really good server since. I'm not really normally active on forums and stuff, but I joined aeva with like a big group of friends, and we're all pretty disappointed.

Other than the bugs with the robrowser and apk, the staff is really rude to the players and don't really seem to know what they're doing, the server is mostly a really annoying pinoy community (hate to say it but it's true), no one listens to the staff and tagalog fluds the channels, they keep getting ddos'd and having rollbacks all the time (even though they say they have ddos protection?), they have a custom alternative in-game money option called aeva fragments (which completely ruined the economy lol), they NEVER have events (are there ANY event gms at all at aeva?), and rider (the admin) is just rude to players and bans people for no reason.

I really am disappointed and really thought I finally found a good server. :( Can't there just be another playro?  /sob Anyway, thumbs down to aeva.

But let me understand this, are your main complaints:

* The staff is really rude to the players
* Noone listens to the staff and tagalog fluds the channels
* They keep getting DDOS'd and having rollbacks all the time

It's just that I find RObrowser and ROandroid bugs kind of... worthless, because that doesn't tell me what the server's experience was.

I am not staff or anything related to AevaRO, I only want to understand your feelings about this server.

I don't think any RO server intends for their browser/android clients to be used as your main way to play the game. They are just temporary ways to keep in touch with guild members or friends or maybe slow-paced leveling when you don't have access to a computer. You should probably download the client if you're actually going to play the game. The client runs flawlessly.

As someone who has played quite a bit, I can tell you that I've never had a rollback even when I got disconnected during the DDoS attacks. The DDoS attacks only caused some downtime and instability for a couple days (maybe 2-3?) before that it wasn't an issue, and it hasn't been an issue since. I don't lag either so you may want to check out your connection.

I haven't had much interaction with the staff so I don't know if they are rude or not, but most of them seem pretty friendly. Maybe there's a GM in particular you're referring to? I also don't know what "bans for no reason" you're referring to either. Haven't seen that happen. I've seen people muted for spamming or speaking another language in #main, but that's it. Seems like simple rule enforcement if you ask me.

The Aeva Fragments (the alternate form of currency you're referring to) can only be used to buy statless costumes and is by no means ruining the economy. Not a lot of people care for costumes and there's plenty of buying and selling of normal items on the market. Where are you getting this from?

I think your complaint about AevaRO boils down to:
1) You're trying to permanently play with a temporary client. Doesn't make sense.
2) You dislike Filipino players. There's loads of English speaking players. This makes you sound racist.
3) You might have had a blunt/rude response from a GM once.

We launched on the 27th of March. Since you pointed out that I ban people, I'm assuming you were one of those who were recently banned for the donation fraud along with everyone involved in it (which is an actual reason). If you think I was rude in any form or manner, I would like you to prove it because I'm a little offended when I'm going out of my way and being active in-game most of the time just to support players. With that said, I think this thread is in the wrong section because I don't see a discussion here, rather it is a rant by a player who got banned.

As for the browser, please reads the terms on the very page you launch it. It does say clearly that it will not have all the features of the client and we never recommended anyone to play via the browser because it is and always will be just an alternative when you are unable to access the client (which I have also mentioned several times on the forums). The android may not match up to the client but we are working on fixing all the bugs on it as and when people report the issues with it. They are for player's convenience and a form of availability on other platforms besides the PC client. Please don't confuse them as a replacement for a game that is made for PC.

We do get DDoS attacks frequently and most of them get mitigated without anyone noticing it. Only a couple of times we had massive multiple attacks, where we had to reset the system. The map crashes were not due to DDoS and we even reported most of the crashes to Hercules so others might also benefit from it.

We mute and kick players from the channels who do not speak English on global chat and most of the time I see people speak only English except for those few newcomers who get warned, Food for thought: most server start with a peak that gradually drops and/or is never reached after the launch but we've been reaching new peaks over time. We welcome everyone to come enjoy our server but if you are going to break the rules, then we will not tolerate it, no matter how big your group is.

All the servers has this kind of player.

You won't get banned for no reason. I'm sure you did something illegal that leads your account to suspension. Server admins are also human being, don't expect them to be always nice. Yes, they should be nice but if you talk to them like you're a raging customer who nags about various stuff, I'm sure you'll get a rude response (It really depends on how you see it).

I am expecting this guy to be posting a negative review on Aeva's RMS page lol. (As expected from banned players in any server)

Kudos, Rider. He's one of the toxic players of RO who loves outsmarting the admins (because he's an RO vet ) and when they get banned, they'll post rants on RMS.  /heh

Good ol' times when Juvia spawed 100 lhz mvps at the castle instead to disable the warp to prevent taking it and forgot to kill the mvps then. After a few hours ppl started warping in the castle trying to asura them which were standing right in front of the entrance LOL

Or that scene where he enabled using meth4u on internal guard by deleting it from its blacklist but didnt tell anybody which made me the only person who knew it for straight 2 months LOL

This is why I dont want to join any of his servers anymore. And because of hercules simply sucks balls.

I find this quite amusing, because the staff at AevaRO are one of the reasons why I play on this server.
And while I hate to talk like this, but in general pinoy players really need to be kept in line at all times and thus far the staff has done a good job with that.

It's why I avoid international servers like the plague. --removed, not needed-- no offense but a lot of Pinoy/Brazillian players do not understand english and even when they do, they retort with the typical internet troll behavior. "Huehuehuehue/Jajajajaja" It's why I can't play International servers and it's also why my love for Ragnarok Online is dying simply because of a community of people who have no respect for English players.

And you only respect English and no other language so it seems. How's that any different?
