I've read on your your thread about having trouble with someone just for a quote, I've also had problems in the past regarding this matter, I've had a hard time promoting myself as a freelance graphics artist too, so what I did was, *I was on a freelance site before, so I searched what the market demanded* then I made mock up designs * cause I've no clients also,*, made designs that where appealing to the market, started from there, then when I was hired, gave professional work, not only on graphics, but most importantly on communication. then rest was history, I'm not saying that you were wrong on asking someone to hire you just for a portfolio, cause it might make them think you are desperate and unprofessional, just enjoy what you do, and rest will come,

and now I get to choose which job offer interests me and which jobs I'd like to take on, cause I already have my own reputation when it comes to services and professionalism, *haha if I see an offer as boring, i'd ignore it~

trust me , the best part is when you get to choose the job,clients  you like , and not the job you just wanna turn into your portfolio~

Wanna preach to one person?  Go preach to everyone else.  While I agree with you, you honestly have no right to single out one person when there are tons of people using art they shouldn't be.

yah youre right, but using images that are copyrighted is unprofessional, but the images that were made by ragnarok is ok, but a hand drawn, digital or traditional fanart of a person used as an asset for a commercial artwork, is bad, I hope you learned your lesson,

plus this also happens when other artist do not boldy display that their artwork cant be used, remade, sold in other forms.~
when I made graphics work for clients, I always see to it, that the images were either Royalty free, the clients own images or a licensed for commercial use image, *just some tips*

i said it doesn't work in art community, I could have said "any community" , but the topic was mainly concerning art, but I guess Erebus's community doesn't

Don't assume that his 'community' is okay with Stolen art.  That's just making assumptions.  When you said 'nope doesn't work in the art community' it seemed like you were saying its okay for every other community except the art community, as if the art community holds some higher tier of godliness, haha.

I get what you mean though.  We all make mistakes and stuff, i've seen tons of gfx artists use work from artists who specifically say not to.  ( I mean paid works, usin other peoples artz. )

Either way, you bumped a kinda old topic and I wonder where Ichan went anyways, I know he was bumpin this topic regularly for a while now.
