I've spent a while on Google but haven't found anything. They are both combo users and I've had champions in the past, so I was curious about making an SG. Only thing is, more than half (if not all) of the Star Gladiator's skills are entirely useless because of the fact the map you mark is PERMENANT unless you want to go through the /doridori crap with an SG friend. However it seems like most of the Taekwon Boy/Girl skills are more than adequate, but I don't know for sure--I thought I'd ask the community. If I make another Champion, I'm just in it for the PvE, and I find combo monks are loads o' fun.

How do these two classes compare with each other? Thanks. : )

Correction: Taekwon Kid is a combo-user. SG focusses on those weird, heavily annoying astrology skills. Though, as mentioned by yourself, you can simply build upon your TK skills, which is preferred by people who do not wish to go through the mind-breaking effort of becoming a ranked TK (note that a TK Ranker and a SG using TK skills do vary a little in playstyle).

Anyway, I personally like Star Gladiators and Monks alike. SG can become a powerfull (if limited) MvP hunter even if not as good as they originally were, but Monk has more flexibility in his builds and can actually PvP, an area where SG is lacking.

Yeah I don't care much about PvP anymore. Are Taekwon kids better than Star Gladiators? You mentioned this:

Also, how does the damage and solo capability compare between a monk and SG compare? I started an SG, I just want to figure out if it's a waste of time or not, if I should have picked monk instead.

with proper buffs and certain gears (drac card and rideword hat, i'm looking at you), SGs are the undisputed masters of PvM. And MVP actually, as long as they have proper support.

there is a reason why SGs can be leveled to max from scratch in one day, on OFFICIALS.

XileRo is the only HR I know that has a reasonable PvP system. I did watch the RWC like you said, all I see is people spamming the room like every other gang fight there is in RO.

Ironfungus

Proper buffs are a no-go for me, as I don't have any priest or monk friends. Gear of that caliber takes exactly nine years to obtain, so that's also out of the question.

The server I currently play on is fairly low rate. So I need to know about SGs and Monks in comparison regarding normal / standard gear.

I play on a server with 4x MVP drops. We still actively hunt for MVP cards and get them occasionally. It just depends on whether you want to commit to camping a MVP long term :/

Depends on how you play them. A TK Ranker has one of the highest health pools there is and can spam his kicks. A Star Gladiator gets more skills and can actually wield weapons.

Remember: for a TK Ranker you need to enter the ranking list. This means you need to build up points by repeatedly using Taekwon Mission and, depending on list status, go through a horrendous grind against randomly selected monsters.
SG without SG skills may be weaker, but it's safer for your sanity.

Could someone please elaborate on this?, I always wanted a SG for MvPing and gathering items, but the fact that they only work on a small number of maps at all always held me back!

Relics

Feeling / Solar, Lunar and Stellar Perception

Allows you to mark a map as the Sun, stars or moon.. effectively limiting you to max 3 maps where you can use your warmth skills on.

a way to reset it is to spam /doridori with another SG next to you .. which activates one of the hidden skills from star glads.

Solar, Lunar and Stellar Angel
Skill Type: Extra (hidden)

Description: Like the Miracle, this skill does not appear in your skill tree, and while it's supposedly activated by using /doridori while in "Happiness" state, the chance of it happening is very low (approximately 0.01%). However, if and when it does work, it is rumored that the Angel can clear all the maps set by Perception, as well as all targets set by Opposition, which means you'll have to set your maps and targets after the angel appears.
