Although this certain patch had been released a long time ago, i still haven't tried them yet. Probably because i think they are lame since they can't reborn.

Anyway, nowadays i feel like trying on them, just for collecting materials for my merchant classes and kill those annoying bots. They have to be strong enough to dish out enough damage since i'll be looking for maneater blossoms, steels, irons, and coals. But i'm just uncertain what to raise to make them powerful.

The gunslingers in my server are, well, very inexperienced and undependable. They even have hard times changing into gunslingers or ninjas.

People said that it's better to use ninja's elemental attacks rather than hiding techniques and throwing skills to hunt down their prey.

I'm planning to use a revolver gunner and elemental ninja, so how can i raise their stats and skills to maximise their potential "without any partners, cards and upgraded or powerful rare equipment" and "only with the equipments bought from NPCs"?

Your guidance is very much appreciated.
Thank you for you time and attention.

Could you describe what environment you server is? Such as rates, customs..etc

ngjoko

I changed my mind, i'll create a melee ninja instead, seems cooler and works almost like a thief.

The server i'm playing in is:
>1x, 1x, 1x(i think).
>A PvP server, almost every map has PvP function.
>Too empty, hardly any players because it's still rather new.
>Filled with bots, mostly taekwon, mage, acolyte, and merchant classes.
>Filled with rude and shameless players(mostly swordies), keeps on KS-ing me and won't stop asking for buffs and stuff(which i always rejects), and i can do nothing to them because we're still in our first form.

Sounds like a kinda crappy server... :(

lol leave?

as for ninjas.... most ppl use them for magic purposes.... but i know one person that has an awesome mele ninja build =3

but ya lvl'ing a mele ninja at the beginning might be a bit of a challenge for you... but i wish you the best of luck still ^^

ngjoko

I see, so...
>Gunslingers need dex for attack power, so does it mean that i just need treat it like an archer?
>Ninja, depending on the type, should be treated either a thief or mage, right?

pretty much ^^
the good thing bout ninja's is they have their lil skills (i forget the name atm XDDD) that protect em from getting hit

and on the plus for the gunslingers they have more attack related skills then most archers
but be warned.... most gunslinger bullets ARE NOT element enchanted... which can get a little annoying at times

ngjoko

Does every gun type use the same ammo?

I saw an NPC saying something about spheres and most of them are elemental. Are those bullets?

well there are bullets and grenades...

Grenade Launchers use the grenades...
while the rest of the guns just use the bullets

ngjoko

i just made my gunner. i'd never imagine he's so hard to train... Raising his job level is way too much of a chore with my low attack power, should've seen that coming :o

if i'm right, there're only a few types of revolver and their attack power are no better than a main gaunce, oh, well, should've seen that coming...

is there anymore things i need to know about gunners or melee ninjas?

I can't find any weapons for ninjas except for fuuma shurikens and ashura.

Are there any other weapons for ninjas?

well ninjas can use daggers, shurikens, fuma shurikens, and kunais
lol ya gunners are slow to lvl....

but on the plus job lvl 70 for em =3

but on the plus for gunners when u finally get them to a high enough job lvl their skills can do massive damage =P

ngjoko

They turned out disasterous, i had no choice but to remove and forget all about them. Luckily, i was able to get the refund from those bullets, thanks to my alchemist.

awww well thats a shame ={

I know this may be extremely late, so I'm hoping that you'd have at least found another friendlier server, or at least have had a better run with both classes.

Regarding Gunslingers. Gunslingers are not Archers - it's an easy mistake, but that's the fact. They have five weapon types, each with their own speciality. Grenade Launchers are the only weapons which ammunition is elemental - excluding Endows. Rifles are for their Critical Hit bonuses and Tracking, which allows you to hit ANYTHING in the game. Gatling Guns on the other hand is reliant on high attack speeds and as such large unwieldy weapons go, require you to fight from a distance. In PvP, people favour Shotguns and Handguns because they are the best source of damage for Gunslingers.

In response to your complaint of the lack of weapon attack power in Handguns, I'd like to assure you that the damage comes from the damage bonuses from cards, various items, and most of all, the Skills. Among the non-transcended classes, Desperado has perhaps the greatest damage potential in the game.

Ninjas are a something else. There are three major types of Ninja builds: Magic (aka Ninpou), Throwing and Final Strike (Issen). The first is utilises Blaze Shield, Raging Dragon, Lightning Spear, Hidden Water and Kamaitachi. Throwing Ninjas with fair amounts of AGI utilise Shurikens and Kunais; due to their focus in STR, some also take Final Strike as an optional skill. Final Strike Ninjas focus on STR and Max HP for damage, maybe a small amount of DEX for the optional Throw Shuriken.

I'm not sure how much satisfaction you've found from your "melee" Ninja, but by now you'd probably notice the deficiency of melee support skills. Which is rather in-character, if you think about it: Ninjas never stand face-to-face with an opponent. They fight from a distance and from the shadows.

Shikamaru

Ninja.

Gunslingah r awfulness.

Bootleg

It is a hard fight...
But honestly it depends on who is better in STRATEGY
I have never fought a Gunslinger in PvP o_o

But from the Ninjas I've seen the are easy and predictable
Magic...annoying Cicada backslide skill
Magic...magic...slide...repeat

When you get past the cicada thing they are easy to defeat :D
But I've only seen crappy Ninjas :(

I dunno honestly, I like the original classes more.

watdapak

I like ninja because its hard for me to hit ninja because of cicada. i like build of ninja is KS Killing Stroke or Final Strike. I can kill champ in one hit.

ngjoko

Yeah, i agree. Originals are still the best, i dunno when 3rd classes will be here though, i'm so looking forward to it. Til now, i still haven't tried taekwon before, could be that i was too pissed with taekwon boots in my server. Next time, there'll be jiangshi everywhere in rune midgard, creepy. Jiangshi means stiff corpse, which is something similar to munak and her brothers, that hops around in the night looking for human's "chi" energy to feed on, maybe they'll learn some skills like life and soul drain.

Wow, 1 hit kill!? That's awesome! But it's sure to be a feat that's hard or impossible to achieve in my server. Leveling is super hard, reseting one of your characters needs an actual fund of 1million rupiahs to buy an item from the kafra store to reset everything.

I personally like shadow slash hybrids (which no one really uses :-\). In fact, I've only seen like 4 that use shadow slash. I think it partly for the reason that you need to change tactics a lot (if the person is using sight, you need to step back after slashing a cell).

They are great in the way that you are hiding 70% of the time and dealing about 2k damage every second. They can also get some magic skills that do some good damage even if you are going both strength and intelligence (Shadow slash does 2k each slash with a basic weapon and Lightning spear does average damage with about a 0.30 cast).

Final Strike is way too unreliable. It randomly does insane damage (it did 27k when I used it once and it usually does 10k) but reduces your HP to 1. Also, you won't one hit kill everything considering it is always a neutral element.

Melee ninjas should invest in some throwing skills such as throw kunai just to make leveling a lot easier.

Gunslingers can drop any class including paladin but it may have problems with sniper. They can do the basic desperado spam, critical agility rifle, or a 190 ASPD gatling gun that spams triple action at a crazy rate. Grenade launchers I've never tried, but they seem useful in the way that you can use triple action with them and that they have some crazy attack power along with the ability to break armor.

A Ninja will have the upperhand when fighting against a gunslinger, due to a gunslinger being a range type and reverse tatami for ninjas is a beautiful skill. Also gunslingers wont have a gtb or maya cos guns dont allow them to use skills, a happy magic ninja will be destroying you, even if you do have mdef gears they can always switch to kunai/throw fuuma shuriken and because of your weak defense you will be downed quite fast. The only way i could see a gunslinger winning against a ninja is if the ninja doesn't use crimson fire and you got close enough to him to use desperado or the gunslinger has a sinx card which makes the ninja come in range for you to Desperado.

I play on a 5x/5x/3x server and my gunslinger has been blowing through levels. Make a mage friend with fire bolt and kill geographers until around 45. From there i got desperado and a high dex/ balanced vit/ low int/ 1 everything else. In PvP I can kill anyone that is not an insta cast super novice or archers, but any mele class stands no chance. The trick is to buy a garrison and get it to around +7 then put in to zipper bear cards.

Well Good Luck!!!  :)

The most important thing about a gunslinger is to remeber to stay away from what you're trying to kill!!!

Both classes have very low HP making them difficult to use, to make up for this both have alot of different builds such as shotgun/revolver ninpou/ninjasura (bad pun). From personal experience both classes need much more work and skill then your average trans class and need major tweaking before they will be equal in PVP. That being said, I love gunslinger and i think its one of the coolest classes in the game, but the only real way you can do dmg is by getting up close to your opponent and either using full blast, which might get you killed, or spamming desperado, which will probably get you killed. Ninja on the other hand is HARD TO KILL due to cicida skin shedding and illusionary shadow. Ninja's dmg isnt very good IMO and Final strike is weak as hell and only really viable in the PVP arena where dmg isn't reduced, and you can spam mist/shadow slash. I hope that helped.

you also have to think, if the gunslinger dose use desperado as long as the ninja has Cicada Skin Shed on he will just slide away, really gunners stand no chance against ninjas in pvp

In the end it's purely based on teh skill of the user a skilled user can pwn any class that has an unskilled user behind the helm.

let me rephrase this, if, you have a maya p or some boxes of sunlight and can hide also than u have some hope there, before the ninja jumps keep trying to spam a skill on him while hes hiding so when he dose jump it will hit him, just have to be better at strategic playing than the other person, or just be really lucky xD

That's why you alternate between freezing and poison grenade launchers, they are considered trap(yet melee, but remember, missed attacks may still receive effects), so if the Ninja slide, he will be probally frozen, so you set a mass of bomb around him and hit him once again. If ciceda doesn't end up fully consumed, the ninja will be miles and miles away from you, and if it IS consumed, you can consider the ninja with 20% hp or less.
