Personally, I just feel like ranged classes in general win at RO. Gunslingers included. Fighting at range is remarkably newbie-friendly, because you tend not to get hit.

Oh, and newbie-friendly? I don't know man. When I was playing at Valk I obviously spent a lot of time in Payon 1. Even when I moved on to 2 and 3 I was still chilling out there sometimes, buffing people who proved not to be bots. And in that time I've seen one(1) Archer who actually used the range of his class to his advantage. That is shoot-move away-shoot, repeat.

The rest? Rush blindly into enemy, start shooting, keep shooting as the enemy walks up to you and starts raping your 1VIT character, spam Novice Red Potions like crazy, die nonetheless, repeat.

Again, with geared GS'es, I've never seen them take out other decently geared people in one-hit, even with FB. If you're taking out the noobs, it doesn't really matter anyway.

I've always favored a guild with a few members who know what they're doing rather than big guilds with newbies. Each of my guild's 3 SinXes can actually solo clear some 10+ player guilds. Granted that we are extremely geared in comparison :X Not that I look down on newbs, no. If I'm free, I'll still help them on their way to becoming better players.

@ASFC: Bleh. Not everyone has Pneuma. And good Snipers can find ways around it, or move to a different target. Not saying that good Snipers are plentiful, though.

Pneuma is actually one of least favorite things ever. As my main is the GS. So, I give it lots of credit. I tend to stay away from the HP/Tank combo in PvP because of that -.-

There are videos around of a Gunslinger in WoE on euRO killing loads of people with Desperado, which does really big damage with proper gear, and being the main damage dealer in an Abyss party, killing mobs faster than I've seen an advanced class do. Desperado is amazing, it just needs a Scholar or huge supply of sp items.
