not sure if this belongs here but...what does it mean when you try to dye a hair a different color and it just ends up black and the face looking blue and weird?

Either you are missing the palette files or they are at the wrong directory or are named wrongly.  Another possibility is that the stylist lets you keep going on through the dyes even though there are no palettes left anymore. (Could also mean that the server simply doesn't have anymore palettes to choose from.)
Saw that on a few servers that you could go beyond 100 but they only had like 50 dyes.

oh okay but how do I add dyes since it be nice to change the color of the hair

This will need you to play with the Palette editor I gave you before. Try looking at differ dyes and guessing where will this affect and so on and starts editing them carefully and create your own dye, you will need lots of time to do it in a right manner but I believe that's the best way *Shrugs*
